Our voter preference data for the Mombasa County gubernatorial race places Hassan Omar in a commanding position at 34.1%, reflecting a strong and growing confidence in his leadership. As the Secretary General of UDA and a Member of the East African Legislative Assembly, Omar enters the race with a unique blend of national influence, regional legislative experience, and a proven public service record. His lead suggests that a significant share of voters see him as the most capable alternative to drive reforms, enhance governance, and elevate Mombasa’s strategic role within the national economy.

The incumbent Governor, Abdulswamad Nassir, follows at 27.8%, indicating that while incumbency offers visibility, many voters appear open to a leadership shift. Mohamed Ali, MP for Nyali, stands at 16.6%, demonstrating the appeal of outspoken parliamentary oversight. With 11.1% of voters still undecided, the race remains fluid—but current trends clearly point to Omar’s advantage, driven by his expansive political experience, organizational clout, and ability to articulate a transformative agenda for the county.

This afternoon, I had the honour of attending the Aqd Nikah and wedding luncheon of Muhammad Faraj Mansur Timimi, son of the families of Faraj Mansur Timimi and Hussein Swaleh Al-Yaafi, at Diamond Jubilee Hall, Mombasa.

It was a joyous occasion, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds and their families. May their union be blessed with love, harmony, and prosperity as they embark on this new chapter of life together.

Last evening, the Kenyan High Commission in Accra, Ghana under the leadership of the High Commissioner H.E Col (Rtd) Shem Amadi, hosted a courtesy dinner for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan and his delegation at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to fulfilling Kenya's foreign policy objectives and interests for the benefit of its people.

The Secretary General emphasized that Ghana and Kenya enjoy cordial relations and historical ties that continue to strengthen the relationship between the people of these two friendly nations.

He also encouraged Kenyan expatriates working in various multilateral organizations and other sectors abroad to continue promoting Kenya's soft power as they serve humanity in their respective locations and capacities.

The Secretariat staff in attendance; Higgins Mbugua, Deputy Executive Director/Director Elections & ICT, Sabastian Mwangangi, Special Advisor to the Secretary General, Carolyne Bosco, Secretary Disciplinary Committee, Mercy Kuria, Martha Keega, Gladys Chebet and John Mwaura.

Today, the Secretary General of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Balozi Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi paid a courtesy call to UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan at his office, Hustler Plaza.

Talks between the two leaders focused on modalities of bolstering relations between the CCM and UDA Party for the benefit of the people of the two friendly and neighbouring countries.

CCM has been in power in Tanzania for a long and has successfully established strong grassroots-led movements and organizational structures. These are the models that UDA aims to emulate going forward.

CCM's Secretary General was accompanied by the High Commissioner of Tanzania to Kenya H.E Dr. Bernard Yohana Kibesse.
