I didn't realize Legit NG published a piece about this post I wrote sometime in April.
I was just scrolling through Google when I came across the publication. I've had several of my posts talked about by different blogs already but what's fascinating about this particular one is that it wasn't a viral post.
In fact, the post didn't really move when I made it, because I hadn't been gaining much traction then. It's even around 158 views presently.
Yet, it was noticed by Legit NG.
This goes to show that, no matter how low your impressions may be, there are actually people noticing your posts.
So, this is to tell everyone out there to keep posting. Keep creating. Keep sharing your thoughts. Keep sharing your experiences.
Never be discouraged by low views.
You don't know which post will bring your online breakthrough. It may even bring a brand deal you never imagined.
Just keep creating and sharing your truths.
And just make sure not to defame anyone.
News writing is easy, yet extremely difficult at the same time.
Knowing what to write, when to, and when not is the most challenging part.
You could spot a promising story and get nothing out of it. Then a story you almost ignored ends up ranking on Google simply because..
you decided to give it a shot.
The biggest challenge in journalism has two sides: knowing what works and getting what works to actually work in terms of clicks.
Since the beginning of June, I've written over 200 news stories.
Many would often assume that news writing is easy. Maybe it is
Anyone can write, but not many can do the actual writing. I've been writing news pitches in my head without actually writing them. Even after work, I find myself brainstorming what works.
Sometimes, it can be tiring
IF CURSES WORKED
Maitama would no longer be known for luxury homes,
But for acres of graves bearing familiar names
The loudest sound in this country wouldn't be campaign songs
No man would smile after stealing from the hungry
The oppressed would need no revenge, only time
