@Owennfa This boomer worked 2 jobs (70 hours per week) to save up a down payment while we lived in my in laws house. My wife worked 2 part time jobs as well, I continued after we bought the house for another year to pay for remodel and repairs.

@AzPetrich The only ones crying will be the ones losing 8 hours of pay every week. Businesses will still need to run and they will hire extra people to do so. They will not pay you to not work. What about those who will lose benefits because they are now part time?

@GuyTalksFinance I don't see a crash coming either way. I'm a boomer and I am only 61. I along with a lot of others in their 60's who will statistically live into my 80's. So we are looking at a housing transfer that will take 20 plus years not in the next couple.

@realofficers For me, by the time my panic attack is triggered taking the meds would be pointless after the fact. I have GAD and social anxiety, sweating so bad I look like I just got out of the shower and looking for an escape exit. I would need water, Xanax and time for them to kick in.

@Leonajardinho If they plan on keeping the car 6 years, go 72 months on the loan and payments would be $380. Not to mention that trade in is low for a low mileage civic, more like $14k. My guess this story never happened.

@jonbrooks There will always be a buyer, home sales and values are actually up in my area. My son against my advice wants to flip his house and get a bigger one again, I told him to wait for interest rates to come down.

@PumpCapitalLLC Only between 9 to 20% of boomers have a net worth of $1M or higher, this includes their home as well. Sad part is a vast majority are only worth between $360k and $430k. The belief that all boomer live in $1M homes and hoard $ is highly exaggerated.

@TrpstrLeonOG Keep looking, thats what we had to do in 1994. Everything was out of range for us, we worked multiple jobs, lived in my inlaws house and saved everything we could. Eventually a house came up we could afford. Needed work which we did mostly ourselves. I still live in it.

@jeremyct Sorry, that is not a career, it is a stepping stone to a better job that will eventually get you.into a career. No minimum wage job should be something you can live on. It never was. Since when is it a career to fill drinks at a fast food restaurant? It never was, never will be.
