This would be a scandal that would have ended any other presidency.
Qatar gave a $400 million Boeing 747 to the Pentagon. Trump calls it a “free” gift. It is not free. The Air Force just spent months retrofitting it with secure communications, missile defense, and electromagnetic shielding.
The cost of that work is classified.
Estimates say north of a billion.
The number is enormous, and you are paying it.
Now the part they bury.
Under the memorandum signed by the Pentagon and Qatar, ownership of the plane transfers to Trump’s presidential library foundation when he leaves office. His own son says it will sit in the lobby of a future Trump hotel.
So follow the chain.
A foreign government hands a luxury jet to a sitting president. American taxpayers rebuild it from the inside out. Then Trump takes it home.
A gift you use for four years and then keep is still a gift. The Constitution bars foreign gifts to a president without the consent of Congress. This one never got that consent.
We are paying a fortune to gift wrap a luxury jet that ends up in his private collection.
Grift in plain sight.

Over 200,000 children, including 145,000 US citizens, have likely had a parent detained since January, per Brookings. Therapists describe preschoolers with speech delays and kids too anxious to leave the house. Careful reporting by @KFFHealthNews:

FREE SPEECH UNDER ATTACK: Marco Rubio just had a man arrested and jailed, and is seeking to deport him, because he publicly criticized a presidential candidate in Colombia that Donald Trump would prefer to be elected.
He committed no crimes and had an asylum application pending.
The guy came to the US as a six-year-old in 2001, under the Bush administration, before @DHSgov even existed. He’s lived and worked legally in the country for the last 12 years.
He may be guilty, or he may not be. That’s up to the courts. But DHS shouldn’t lie about his status.
In total, ICE set tens of millions of dollars on fire, buying multiple commercial warehouses at inflated prices in order to rush through a stupid plan to convert them into mass detention camps, and then when the whole thing unraveled they’re now offloading them at lower prices.
My client was detained illegally even though he had legal status. He spent seven long months in detention while we sued the federal government, but he was finally released. https://t.co/0rqJKQvOPv
Many of these people were in the United States for 30-40 years. Because Cuba didn’t take deportations for half a century, they were able to live here despite removal orders issued decades in the past. Then they were suddenly called in by ICE, handcuffed, and dumped in Mexico.
This kind of statement would carry a bit more weight had @DHSGov not blown its credibility by losing case after case after case brought against protestors.
This plan is actively *insane.* Airlines cannot divert large numbers of international flights from one city to another; they'd just have to cancel flights en masse, causing enormous economic damage that splashed waaaaay beyond a few big cities that were the target.
The Trump administration actively wants to prevent millions of undocumented immigrants from paying taxes; giving up tens of billions in tax revenues to deliberately make peoples’ lives more difficult and make complying with the law a Catch-22.
There are 1.2 MILLION legal immigrants waiting for approval on their adjustment of status green card applications. And USCIS says we're not processing you. We're taking your money to pay for our new police force. Thanks. GTFO.
The biggest bullshit move by DHS in its history. So everyone on a O1 or H1B visa would have to stop working legally in the US, go back to their country and wait for years of backlog? This includes top scientists in our universities, founders of billion dollar companies (at least 3 just in our portfolio would be affected by the way). And if we look at individual countries it becomes even more bs. Indians would have to wait decades. Russians don’t have anywhere to go (there is no US embassy in Russia, hello?).
This is the worst imaginable way to disrupt important work for the country and pretend you’re fighting some loophole.
That doesn't answer the question even in the slightest, since the person is still eligible for a green card and will still get it; except now their life has been made more difficult and their job disrupted. https://t.co/gZlsJpgEUB
The new USCIS memo is totally illegal and it will get blocked in the courts.
No memo can override a 30 year congressional statute. It’s nonsense.

JUST IN: Per Immigration Attorney Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, the Uzcategui-Labrador family from Alamo Heights will be released from the ICE detention center in Dilley tomorrow morning by 9:30am

NEWS: The Trump administration is announcing a major expansion of its denaturalization campaign, targeting a dozen American citizens accused of fraudulently obtaining U.S. citizenship.
That was the annual average of cases between 1990 and 2017.
