I am Brian’s lawyer.
I sued the Department of Homeland Security over their unlawful actions, and after months of litigation, they released him to me at the Laredo border and I brought him back home to Austin.
We will continue to pursue compensation for damages.
BREAKING: This U.S. born citizen was deported to Mexico in April.
During a traffic stop, Brian Morales told immigration officers that he was born in Colorado, and offered to show his birth certificate. They refused to listen and deported him.
Today, he’s back in Texas.
FACT CHECK: the claim by @DHSGov that "Over 70% of illegal aliens ICE arrested [] have criminal convictions in our nation" is an outright LIE.
In July, 51% of people arrested by ICE had no criminal record, compared to 24% with any prior conviction and 25% facing pending charges.
@GKTABM@FrankLuke08 Texas was Mexico less than 200 years ago. Where exactly do you think all the people who lived on that land went?
I’ll give you a hint: nowhere.

ICE arrested Loreto Javar, a 76-year-old man with Stage 4 prostate ancer, during a citizenship interview despite holding a green card and having no criminal history in the United States. He has been in custody for two months now.

Lucky Philistine, a member of the Haitian American community in Ohio, spoke up at the vigil for 20-year-old student Pierre Damas Bel, who recently took his own life after being forced to wear an ankle monitor by ICE agents. Since June 2026, more and more Haitians in the U.S. are being abducted and required to wear ankle monitors after the Trump administration abruptly ended their Temporary Protected Status, a move deemed unlawful by the ACLU and many human rights group.

Like an estimated 350,000 Haitian immigrants, Pierre Damas Bel had recently lost temporary protected status, which is given to people fleeing nations experiencing disaster.
He was recently run over and killed in what his family believes was a suicide. https://t.co/h01mJkh9Kc
“If you make legal immigration impossible, don’t complain about illegal immigration. You created it. You made it illegal.” – Cato Institute’s Director of Immigration Studies @David_J_Bier in testimony before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement.

Because of the blatant cruelty and racism of Trump’s immigration policies, Pierre Damas Bel was denied the chance to fulfill his dreams.
This never should have happened. His blood, and the blood of all those who have died as a result of these policies, is in the hands of Trump and his top officials who have championed them.
A Central Texas man deported to Mexico four months ago has returned to the U.S. after his attorneys submitted a Colorado birth certificate, hospital records, and witness affidavits to the Department of Justice. His federal lawsuit is now moving forward: https://t.co/biqjLJD4dY
You may or may not have heard the news, but ICE deported a US CITIZEN in April.
I sued DHS on his behalf, and after months of litigation, they finally let me pick him at the border and bring him home.
@MPNomad6 They didn’t give him any due process which is how that could have happened. Instead they threatened him with five years of jail time, because ICE lies like that to people all of the time.
@fletch57931@AnthonyMeres I won’t be getting a dime because I did this pro bono. But you will be paying for the negligence and competence of this administration. You’re already doing it every single day.
I just got word from my team that they have successfully won their 100th habeas grant!
100 people out of ICE detention for being unlawfully detained. 💪
Some of these people were ordered deported 20, 30, even 40 years ago. But since Cuba didn't take deportations, they've been living in the U.S. peacefully ever since, legally working and raising families of proud Americans. Now, with little warning, they're being dumped in Africa.
A promising young man, a high school honors grad who joined JROTC and dreamed of becoming a doctor, just killed himself because of the Trump admin’s obsession with hurting Haitians and the humiliating shame of an ICE ankle monitor.
His blood is on their hands.
What a devastating story. This guy was just 20 years old, graduated high school in the US, and was a member of JROTC. He was terrified of being sent back to the violence in Haiti, so he threw himself under a truck. The lack of compassion in this debate is really something. RIP.
