•Universities using race criteria to counter historical racism in admissions is unconstitutional, BUT
•ICE fascists using race criteria to target people of color is constitutional, BUT
•State legislatures using race criteria to counter historical voter suppression is unconstitutional, BUT
•Trump using race criteria to enact travel bans is constitutional

This week, I had the honor of recognizing the life of Tallwood High Coach, John Parker, who recently passed away.

A Virginia Beach native. A record setting athlete. A U.S. Army veteran. A 32 year pillar in Virginia Beach Public School and Tallwood High.

Coach P was more than a coach. He was the first face many students saw each morning. Tough but fair. Steady. Present. He built champions on the track, but more importantly, he built character, confidence, and young leaders.

I stand here in part because of his mentorship and belief in us.

Legal fyi: Now is not the time to "play" Moorish or Sovereign and get locked up in NC. There's a new form Judicial officials have to check boxes saying they can't determine if you are a legal resident or citizen or not.
