The world, Europe, and Spain have faced this critical moment before. In 2003, a few irresponsible leaders dragged us into an illegal war in the Middle East that brought nothing but insecurity and pain.
Our response then must be our response now:
NO to violations of international law.
NO to the illusion that we can solve the world’s problems with bombs.
NO to repeating the mistakes of the past.
NO TO WAR.

They are invoking Amalek—the jewish commandment to murder children and babies—against Iran.
This is genocidal intent. The jews did the same with Gaza then murdered hundreds of thousands of Palestinian children.
The world's two rogue states, Israel and the USA, have started a war not against Iran but against the whole world. We stand with Iranians, with Humanity, against the notion that Israel and the US can bomb anyone their fancy takes them to bomb. https://t.co/Xn8bo7q5Xc
Quite surreal to hear the argument that the problem with Venezuela was that it was selling oil to US adversaries given that it was the US that decided in 2019 to stop buying Venezuelan oil.
@cleanenergywire Good chart, but it forgot the citizens energy package and a strategy on energy communities - a centrepiece of for energy independence and supporting citizens in the energy transition
NEW RESEARCH: Yet another independent study (now approaching 65) finds that hydrogen for heating is not a viable pathway at scale. This time it is a study from the German @FraunhoferISI. My meta-review of 54 independent studies is now getting more and more out of date although the findings of new studies corroborate my conclusions in Cell Press Sustainability Reports from 2024: https://t.co/QTYZvgxqHH
Here are the key findings:
1. Soaring costs for consumers: Switching to hydrogen would cause heating bills to skyrocket by 74% to 172% compared to today's natural gas. The projected cost of hydrogen in 2035 is far above previous gas price caps, and this doesn't even include the extra costs for converting "H2-ready" boilers and other necessary building adjustments.
2. Unsustainable subsidies: Making hydrogen affordable for heating would require massive public subsidies, costing between €9.4 and €21.3 billion annually. Moreover, the cost of CO2 abatement would be exceptionally high (between €713 and €1,374 per tonne), making it a significantly worse investment for the climate compared to other available alternatives.
3. A logistical nightmare: The coordinated, zone-by-zone conversion of gas grids to hydrogen would be a mammoth task. It demands that every gas boiler in an area be replaced with an "H2-ready" unit before the switch—a huge challenge in terms of coordination, time, and skilled labor. This massive effort is hard to justify, especially as heating demand in these converted areas is projected to decline.

1. Norway's position on Palestine epitomises the contradiction of our times.
Norway has one of the most active and mature civil society in Europe when it comes to Palestine, critical media, engaged intellectuals and the government has taken very important steps on Palestine.

Belgium supports the proposal for partial suspension of Israel’s access to EU’s Horizon Europe and calls on the Commission to swiftly propose other concrete measures.
Proposal could be put on EU agenda on 13 Aug for approval if there’s qualified majority.
Someone leaked our effort to try to sabotage it. Sad. It won't work.
Recognizing a Palestinian state is an idea whose time has come. The response of my colleagues has been overwhelming. We will build support and release prior to the UN convening. https://t.co/7K6j6mdKUy
This is not business as usual.
My new UN report, From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide, is out today.
It shows how corporations have fueled and legitimised the destruction of Palestine.
Genocide, it would seem, is profitable. This cannot continue, accountability must follow.

US intelligence assessed just weeks ago that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon
“The IC [Intelligence Community] continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon and Supreme Leader Khamanei has not authorized the nuclear weapons program he suspended in 2003.
The IC is monitoring if Tehran decides to reauthorize its nuclear weapons program.” - Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, 25 March 2025
And this is Germany in 2025.
Treating human rights defenders like CRIMINALS, while receiving alleged int'l criminals with full honours.
Fellow Germans: please regain your senses and see the deranged reality you are sinking into: you cannot afford partaking in further monstruosities. You owe it to all of us.

Happening now: Israeli tanks have entered the northern West Bank after 40,000 Palestinians were expelled from three refugee camps in the Jenin & Tulkarm areas. There's a real and present danger that these camps will be erased. This genocide must be stopped. By us all. Now!
