Friends. Murekye kuncurira (Don't worry abt me). My big brother Gen @mkainerugaba has said I should shut up. And I have. But do not attempt to teach me journalism & media systems. If you are worried about me, be not afraid. Mother Mary of Kibeho (Nyina wa Jambo) is in control!
Honoured to return to my alma mater, @Nganwa_HS, as Guest of Honour during the Canan Zone Thanksgiving Service & Fundraising. Inspiring students & supporting the vision to construct a modern main gate & pave internal roads was a privilege. @NganwaFL@AnkoleWesternUn@HonKateshD
BUT @OdrekRwabwogo, I am so surprised how it has not been possible for you and so many others to have realised we have been doing this, unaided, for the last 11 years!!
🚨🗣️NEW: Eden Hazard on the Doku controversy: ‘A World Cup comes every four years. Your first child comes once’
“People are acting like Doku is abandoning his country. For what? To witness the birth of his first child? Football has lost its mind. A World Cup comes every four years. Your first child comes once. There will be another tournament, another trophy, another headline. There will never be another first breath from your son.
Some journalists call it ‘disgusting.’ No, what’s disgusting is a world where a player is praised for missing his child’s birth but criticized for being a father. We celebrate loyalty to a badge and mock loyalty to blood. That’s backwards.
You don’t postpone the first cry of your son because a tournament is on. You don’t negotiate with life the way you negotiate with a defender. This is not a friendly. This is not a game you can replay.
Your first child… bringing them into this world… it is a blessing. It only happens once. Everything else — the jersey, the crowd, the cameras — that is noise.
Important noise, yes. But still noise.
A man who turns his back on that moment to chase another trophy is not strong. He is empty. I have lifted everything there is to lift in this game. I know what stays when the final whistle blows and the stadium goes dark. It is not the medal. It is the eyes that look at you like you are their entire world.
Let the boy go home. Let him hold his wife’s hand when it matters. The World Cup will still be here in four years. His son’s first breath will not wait for anyone.
Football teaches you to fight. Fatherhood teaches you why you fight. Some people confuse the two. That is their problem, not Doku’s.”

The New Speaker is just like the Last Speaker. Just rubber stamp.
Here, he found an MP in Karim Masaba who wasn’t gonna be easily bullied. How do you say MPs have read a 300 page loan agreement you have just given them as you request for them to vote?
It is important to resist the commodification of basic human needs. Food, water and healthcare cannot be subordinated to market considerations or geopolitical interests. Access to adequate food is a fundamental human right grounded in the dignity of every person. Meeting this need not only alleviates suffering but also addresses underlying causes of geopolitical instability. Indeed, food security is an essential component of global and integral security. https://t.co/DgkM9RegJ7

🚨Luis Figo on Joao Neves saying Cristiano Ronaldo is just an ordinary player like the rest of his Portugal teammates and Bruno Fernandes dropping a like under his Instagram post.
🗣️ First of all I respect Cristiano Ronaldo for all he's done for our country all these years. He's a Portuguese legend and loved by everyone but I question his leadership abilities.
In Euro 2004 I was still playing for the national team coach along with Deco. Cristiano Ronaldo was the youngest player in the squad. Everyone treated him with love and respect despite being older than him. We saw his abilities on the pitch we gave him passes to do the dirty job.
Today he's above 40 and still playing for the national team. I expected him to play with little selfishness. Against Dr Congo, Bruno Fernandes was in a better position to score. He was calling for him to pass the ball but he shot instead and failed to convert.
I saw many Portuguese citizens blaming Bruno Fernandes for dividing the team but that's not the issue. Cristiano Ronaldo as the Oldest player needs to unite the dressing room with Roberto Martinez.
If you look at the Argentina national team, you will see all the players treating Lionel Messi with respect including the coaches. This isn't because he won 8 Ballon D'ors,no! he's down to the Earth. He knows how to keep his teammates happy on and off the pitch.
Everyone in the Argentina team can sacrifice anything to see him happy because he treats them like a family and not strangers. Cristiano Ronaldo should learn from that. You can have the talent but Character is very important in every field of life.
65-year-old David Turyatunguka worked for the Coca-Cola Company for about six years as a crate loader. In 2021, he developed a back condition that left him with a disability, prompting him to stop working in 2022. Since then, he has been unsuccessfully pursuing his NSSF retirement benefits. He lodged a complaint with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and Coca-Cola was penalized, bringing the total amount he is claiming to UGX 50 million.

Hon. Mukasa Mbidde tells us the actual reason why Dr. Kiiza Besigye left FDC Najjanankumbi...
"Dr. Besigye told us something while we were sitting, quite a number of us from the opposition.
We weren't that many, but Honorable Mao took me, and we met him. Then we asked him, "But Dr. Besigye, why exactly did you leave your headquarters? You're the one who has confused the opposition the most. Why did you leave your headquarters in Najjanankumbi and go to Katonga, and set up an office in Katonga?" He laughed so hard.
And he told us, "You have something you don't know. The reason I left Najjanankumbi was this: aha, in one of the executive party meetings,"
One person stood up and said, "My friends, I beg you, I don't want us to start speaking because there is someone here who was at State House. We can't start speaking here while he is present, unless he tells us exactly why he went there, who knew about it, and exactly what he went to do."
Eh, everyone went silent! Then that person stood up and said, "My friends, it's me."
"I was there, and I met the president. The issue that took me there was a bridge in my constituency that I wanted him to work on. And when I finished discussing with him, when I went there, I had called the chairman and told him I was going..."
Yes, on the committee. "But when I went there and finished talking with the president and he agreed, he took me by the hand, we had a small chat, and he took me by the hand and led me into a very long room, saying he wanted to show me some of his friends. And I saw so many people there, even those who are here right now!"
(Laughter)
"But listen to this... he told us, 'That's when I realized that all the people I am with... he gave them ways to leave, and went to Katonga. And went and set up an office that would have people who understand what he is doing, what he is about.' So, therefore, in Uganda, we need to understand how political parties are supposed to operate."
Despite spending time in Belgium and later France under quarantine and medical screening measures to ensure they had not contracted Ebola, not a single DR Congo supporter traveling from Kinshasa was granted a U.S. visa for the World Cup. Among them was Michel Nkuka Mboladinga, better known as “Lumumba,” an iconic Leopards supporter who became one of the most recognizable faces of AFCON 2025.
Since the start of this tournament, we have been witnessing clear bias against African countries embedded in visa and immigration systems.
A fan of the Democratic Republic of Congo, which drew with Portugal in the 2026 World Cup today (1:1). This man stood motionless throughout the entire match, portraying a monument to Patrice Lumumba - a national hero and the country's first prime minister. We have RUDN named after him here. He stood like that throughout the entire game against the Portuguese today.
Even if you are my father or employer, and you joyfully torture an innocent person, I can never feel compelled to praise you or endorse your act. If I can’t speak up against it, I would rather keep quiet. Cheering on whatever gross things one does simply because you love them is the most primitive/barbaric kind of solidarity.
There was a lady whose business I commended just a few days ago. Yesterday I saw her cheering the torture of Lukwago. I blocked her. No need to keep brutes in my space.
🚨🗣️New: Luis Suárez reacts to Uruguay’s arrival in the United States for the World Cup, where the squad faced sniffer dogs and rigorous security checks:
“I’ve been in football a long time, and I’ve seen tournaments all over the world. But what we’re witnessing here with the USA hosting this World Cup is deeply concerning. Take the Uruguay team arriving — world-class players like Manuel Ugarte, standing there with arms folded, looking utterly bewildered as sniffer dogs go through their bags like they’re common criminals. That image says it all. These are ambassadors of the game, not suspects at the border.
This isn’t hospitality; it’s humiliation dressed up as security. You’ve got a Somali referee, one of Africa’s best, denied entry despite a valid visa — a man who dreamed of officiating at the pinnacle of his career, turned away at the airport. African and South American delegations facing extra screenings, visa chaos for fans and officials from qualified nations. This is the ‘land of the free’ rolling out the red carpet? It feels more like a fortress with razor wire.
The beautiful game deserves better than being turned into a political football or a paranoid checkpoint. FIFA chased the dollars — and there are billions to be made, no doubt — but they’ve sold the soul of the tournament to a host that treats global football stars and supporters like potential threats. Meanwhile, American taxpayers and host cities are left holding a bill running into hundreds of millions for security and logistics that FIFA largely pockets.
Football has always been about unity, passion, and bringing people together across borders. Right now, under this hosting, it’s being strangled by suspicion and overreach. The world is watching these scenes and cringing. If this continues, it risks leaving a bitter taste that lingers far longer than any on-pitch glory. We needed a celebration of the game — not a showcase of division. Something has to change.”
Hakimi, Mbappé, Ivan Toney & Partey all face various allegations of sexual misconduct, but only Partey has been barred by Canada.
If the standard is about allegations, then it must be applied equally, not selectively.
Anything else looks like obvious hypocrisy dressed up as justice.

🚨 VINI JR JUST TOLD FIFA: “WE’LL PAY THE FINE — BUT NOBODY FROM US IS DOING HALF-TIME INTERVIEWS.”
During Brazil’s World Cup match, Vinícius refused the mandatory tunnel interview.
Reporter: “You’ll get a huge fine for this.”
Vini: “We’ll pay. But nobody is coming to the mic.”
This isn’t arrogance. It’s players finally saying enough to FIFA’s corporate circus.
Half-time should be for tactics, water, recovery — not feeding the broadcast machine while the game gets sliced up for ads (sound familiar with those forced “welfare” breaks?).
FIFA under Infantino has turned football into a product. Mandatory everything. Player focus as an afterthought. Suits in Zurich cashing in.
Brazil and Vini just pushed back. Raw. Direct. No bowing to the machine.
The beautiful game belongs to the players on the pitch — not boardrooms selling every second.
Who else is done with this?
