In a spectacular display of unity, wellness and patriotism, BSF Punjab celebrated International Yoga Day- 2025 with theme Yoga for one Earth, one health at Joint Check Post (JCP) Attari, Amritsar, with great enthusiasm. Over 1100 participants, including BSF troops, Army officials, students, civil dignitaries and locals from border areas joined this global celebration. The event was graced by Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab, who led the occasion with his presence and inspiration.

Certified yoga trainers conducted various asanas and Pranayam sessions, emphasizing their benefits for a healthy body and a stress-free mind. The Chief Guest encouraged everyone to integrate yoga into their daily lives to promote holistic well-being and inner peace.

Held right on the vicinity of International border, the event showcased a remarkable blend of national pride and wellness awareness. Widely covered by media, the celebration reflected BSF’s unflinching commitment to promoting harmony, health and patriotism. BSF once again proved itself not just as the Nation’s first line of defence, but also as a torchbearer of wellness and unity.

In a major achievement, BSF Drone Workshop at Amritsar has successfully completed the technical analysis of 200 Pakistani rouge drones captured along the border. These drones, used by smugglers to push narcotics and arms into India, have been carefully examined to extract valuable intelligence and develop future strategies to counter the drone menace. Established in August 2024, this initiative has, in just eight months, grown into a vital tool for identifying emerging threats and refining BSF’s counter-drone operations.

The foresight and strategic direction of senior BSF officers have played a crucial role in institutionalizing this technical approach. Insights from the workshop have enabled BSF to adapt its tactics on the ground, leading to increased drone recoveries and more effective border domination. While strategies have evolved with time, BSF remains committed to continuously analysing threats and updating its approach to stay ahead of emerging challenges, ensuring a more effective response to the drone menace in the days to come.

A massive turnout of 5,000 to 6,000 people gathered to witness the Retreat Ceremony Parade at JCP Hussainiwala during the ongoing Baisakhi festivities. This year, a record-breaking 10,000 to 12,000 visitors reached Hussainiwala, out of which 5,000 to 6,000 specifically attended the Retreat Ceremony Parade — marking one of the largest turnouts ever witnessed at this venue.
This overwhelming response reflects the growing significance and popularity of this historic location, where visitors not only attend the Retreat Parade but also pay tribute at the Samadhi Sthal of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. They also visit the Freedom Struggle Museum, which houses Bhagat Singh’s original pistol used in the assassination of Saunders, along with the BSF Museum that showcases the history and legacy of the force.
The increasing public interest is a strong testament to BSF’s efforts to promote this site in alignment with the stature of the famed Attari-Wagah border. JCP Hussainiwala is rapidly emerging as a major tourist destination, drawing national and global attention.

Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, visited forward areas in Punjab today. During the visit, he interacted with senior officers of the BSF and discussed various contours of national security in the region.

The discussions focused on shared challenges, evolving threats, and the collaborative way ahead to further strengthen coordination between the Indian Army and the BSF. The interaction underscored the seamless synergy and mutual respect between the two forces working together for the cause of nation.

On this occasion, the Chief of Army Staff also presented a memento to BSF officers as a gesture of camaraderie and being partners of shared responsibilities and BSF also befittingly reciprocated by presenting a memento to the esteemed Chief of Army Staff.

The Bordermen Marathon 2025, organized by BSF on 23rd February 2025, witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 5,200 participants from across India and abroad, including both professional and amateur athletes, taking on the challenge. The marathon, which started from Golden Gate, Amritsar, to JCP Attari, featured three race categories—Full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km), and 10 km Run, catering to runners of all skill levels.

The event began with an energetic pre-run warm-up session led by professional Zumba trainers, ensuring that participants were well-prepared for the race. Along the route, hydration points, medical aid stations, and entertainment kiosks were strategically placed to support and motivate the runners. After crossing the finish line, participants benefited from post-run stretching sessions by professional physiotherapists, promoting quick recovery and relaxation.

A remarkable 2,000 youth from the bordering areas joined the marathon, showcasing their passion for fitness and sports. Since its inception in 2022, the marathon has grown tremendously, emerging as one of India’s most prestigious national marathons. The event was widely appreciated, drawing immense support from spectators and fitness enthusiasts alike.

In the ongoing National Equestrian Championship – Tent Pegging 2024-25, being held at Punjab Armed Police Grounds, Jalandhar, from 15th to 23rd February 2025, Constable P. Bhagwan Bhai of BSF secured a gold medal in the National Tent Pegging Individual Sword category, adding yet another prestigious achievement to the force.

It is noteworthy that Constable P. Bhagwan Bhai learned horse riding only after joining BSF and was trained, nurtured, and equipped by the force. His dedication, relentless hard work, and BSF’s exceptional training culminated in this remarkable success.

In Tent Pegging’s Individual Sword category, a single rider on horseback gallops along a course, using a sword to pierce, pick up, and carry away small ground targets (symbolic tent pegs). This requires exceptional precision, speed, and control, making it one of the most challenging and skill-intensive equestrian disciplines.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab, attended as the Guest of Honour and presented the awards to the winners in the presence of senior officers from Punjab Police and other organizations. He congratulated the players on their outstanding achievements and for bringing glory to their respective forces.

As part of the @IndiaCoastGuard 49th Raising Day celebrations, the ‘Sentinels of the Sea - Sarhad Se Samandar’ motorcycle expedition was flagged off from JCP Attari on 22nd January 2025. The event was led by IG Bhisham Sharma, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (West), and Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier.

The 10-day expedition spans 2,300 kilometers, passing through India’s border towns and coastal cities, and concludes at the Gateway of India, Mumbai, on 1st February 2025. Facilitated by BSF, the rally honors the Coast Guard’s relentless efforts in securing maritime boundaries while promoting national initiatives such as Fit India, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The participants expressed gratitude to BSF for its exceptional preparations and support. Dr. Atul Fulzele commended the rally, saying, “The world’s largest border guarding force salutes the Sentinels of the Sea and takes pride in supporting this iconic initiative.”

The Cycle Rally organized by @BSF_Punjab to commemorate the 60th BSF Raising Day, aimed at raising awareness and combating drug abuse, successfully concluded at JCP Attari, Amritsar, on the eve of the 60th BSF Raising Day.

Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF HQ Punjab Frontier, hosted a grand welcome at JCP Attari. He felicitated the BSF Punjab Frontier Cyclists team, who led the eight-day journey, in the presence of senior BSF officers, personnel, media, schoolchildren and a large crowd gathered to witness the Retreat Ceremony.

Flagged off on 23rd November from JCP Sadqi, the rally covered over 500 km across Punjab's border towns and villages in Fazilka, Firozpur, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, and Amritsar. Organized by @BSF_Punjab to raise awareness about drug abuse and smuggling, it received overwhelming support from over 500 local participants, including local youth, students and officials. Their enthusiastic involvement attracted large crowds, amplifying the rally's message on the critical issue of drug abuse in the border region.

IG BSF expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone associated with the rally’s grand success, acknowledging their role in widely disseminating its vital message across the region.

The rally is an integral part of the #BSF’s community engagement efforts, aimed at promoting a drug-free environment, especially in border regions threatened by narcotics smuggling. The #BSF Cycle Rally of @BSF_Punjab, flagged off on 23rd Nov' from JCP Sadqi to JCP Attari, is traversing 491 km across Punjab's border districts to raise awareness against drug abuse and drug smuggling. It will culminate on 30th November 2024 at JCP Attari, on the eve of #BSFRaisingDay

The rally has been drawing overwhelming support from residents, students, civil officials and youth, with large crowds, thus raising awareness regarding drug related issues in the border belt.

The cycle rally has covered approximately 165 km over three days and has crossed Ferozepur. Currently it is heading towards the Khemkaran border area.

The @BSF_Punjab has organised a cycle rally from JCP Sadqi to JCP Attari to commemorate the BSF Raising Day celebrations from November 23–30, 2024. The rally was flagged off by Sh. Vijay Kumar, DIG, BSF SHQ Abohar, in the presence of BSF officers, personnel, civil officials, media and enthusiastic students and members of the local community.

The cycle rally will traverse the border districts of Fazilka, Firozpur, Gurdaspur, and Amritsar, covering a distance of 491 km and key landmarks such as JCP Hussainiwala and the Kartarpur Corridor. It will culminate at JCP Attari on the eve of BSF Raising Day, December 1, 2024.

The rally seeks to spread awareness about drug abuse especially among the youth. Displays of weapons and motivational placards along the route, aim to encourage young people to join the force and build a stronger, drug-free society.

The rally underscores the #BSF's proactive role in safeguarding the nation, not only by protecting its borders but also by promoting a drug-free society as part of its commitment to community well-being.

The rally aims to raise awareness about the drug abuse prevalent in the region and is part of the celebrations for the 60th Raising Day of the Border Security Force.

The Cycle Rally will be flagged off from JCP Sadqi on 23rd November 2024 and will culminate at JCP Attari on 30th November 2024, on the eve of the BSF Raising Day.

The event was attended by participants, including students, villagers, and the media. Shri K. N. Tripathi, Commandant, highlighted the importance of addressing drug abuse and emphasized the role of the #BSF in ensuring national security, promoting community well-being and strengthening the bond between BSF and border communities.

On 19th Nov' 2024, in a remarkable achievement, @BSF_Punjab intercepted its 𝟐𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 along the Punjab border, marking a significant milestone for this year. Notably, the total number of drones intercepted and neutralized to date has now reached 𝟑𝟓𝟒, including 𝟏𝟐𝟗 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 neutralized up to 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.

This milestone comes just 10 days after the interception of the 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 on 9th November 2024, reflecting the #BSF's unparalleled efficiency and technological prowess, even while operating under poor visibility caused by thick fog.

The analysis of technical data from seized drones has resulted in the development of new operational strategies and the implementation of enhanced security measures along the Punjab border. These advancements have enabled the precise and successful interception of 𝟐𝟓 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬.

This 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 underscores commitment of @BSF_Punjab and adaptability in addressing evolving security challenges. It sets a new benchmark in border surveillance and counter-drone operations, even under adverse weather conditions.

Today, @BSF_Punjab has achieved a significant milestone in securing the nation’s borders by intercepting its 𝟐𝟎𝟎th 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞, compared to a total of 𝟏𝟎𝟕 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑. These rogue drones, often used to smuggle weapons, drugs, and other contraband, pose serious security challenges to India’s sovereignty and efforts to counter cross-border threats. By relentlessly detecting and neutralizing drone incursions, the BSF has disrupted illegal activities and sent a powerful message of resilience and vigilance.

The #BSF has strengthened its control over illegal activities by enhancing vigilance along the borders, strategically deploying cutting-edge technology, and fostering close collaboration with border communities, local police, and other allied agencies.

The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, during his maiden visit, took stock of the amenities at JCP Hussainiwala, Punjab. He was welcomed by Dr Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF Punjab Frontier.

The Hon’ble Governor witnessed an inspiring 𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 featuring young players from border areas, reflecting the importance of sports in building a healthy, disciplined, and drug-free community.

The Hon’ble Governor encouraged the youth to reject drugs and channelise their energy in games and sports for their physical and mental growth. He emphasized that sports can help in shaping a bright and healthy future for the nation.

He praised @BSF_Punjab in organising sporting activities taking into fold the youngsters of border areas and engaging with the youth positively.

On Police Commemoration Day 2024, Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG BSF, Frontier HQ Punjab paid homage and saluted the brave-hearts in uniform who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty at Shaheed Smark, Frontier HQ, BSF Punjab in the presence of BSF officers and troops.

He read out the names of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, and said that we, from the core of our heart, honour their memory and legacy on #PoliceCommemorationDay2024. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will always inspire us to build a safer Nation and a better society.
