@IncomeTaxIndia@IncomeTaxIndia@PMOIndia@FMoINDIA i did not ask for status of application. The application was rejected on baseless reason when we have already submitted the details physically. Letter attached in mail. But TDS-CPC has not addressed the issue at all and forwarded the status.
Hence, we sent a reminder letter to which we are told to submit additional docs such as affidavit etc.( Photo attached). @IncomeTaxIndia are the documents asked for is correct ? If yes then why TRACES didn't mention the same so that we could have submitted the same before itself
@nsitharamanoffc@IncomeTaxIndia why are we forced to obey to unruly requests of authorities in the case of refunds. Kindly clarify if the docs asked for are valid ? If yes then y didn't TRACES mention the same in its portal.
PS:Till date the refund is pending.
Dear @IncomeTaxIndia
Many TDS deductors have mistakenly deducted 5% TDS in Form 26QC instead of 2%, as the revised rate of 2% came into effect from 1st Oct 2024.
However, despite deductors depositing 5% TDS, the deductees are receiving credit for only 2% - because Form 26QC only allows 2% TDS deduction - causing unnecessary financial and compliance issues.
Now, deductors are being forced to apply for refunds for the excess 3% TDS, leading to additional operational burdens.
We request @IncomeTaxIndia to allow manual feeding of TDS - 5% in Form 26QC, allow full 5% credit to deductees, similar to other TDS sections, rather than making deductors go through the refund process.
Since the TDS has already been deposited at 5%, granting full credit would streamline compliance and avoid unnecessary hardship.
Kindly consider this request for smooth implementation of 26QC TDS rules. 🙏🏻
Hi @IncomeTaxIndia
I have deducted and paid 5% TDS u/s 194IB for rent payment vide Form 26QC , but my landlord is received only 2% TDS credit. What about the remaining 3% paid by me? I also find Grievance on 15.03.2025 vide GAN 21209191 but no response come yet. Kindly advice.
Some TDS Deductor have deducted 5% TDS in 26QC instead of 2% (Rate Chnaged from 5% to 2% from 1st October 2024)
But Deductee getting credit of 2% even though Deductor have deducted 5%
Now Deductor have to apply for redund for that 3% excess TDS
@IncomeTaxIndia kindly give full credit of 5% to deductee like other section of TDS, it will help the Deductor because TDS already has been paid @ 5%
@GSTSOLUTION2@TaxationUpdates@IncomeTaxIndia Can you share the procedure you followed to request a refund and your experience with it? Because I heard that they are asking to submit an undertaking from the PAN AO stating that no tax is outstanding on the PAN. How did you manage to get the refund so easily?
