The late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV’s 2022 Will sets out a clear line of succession to the Tooro throne.

Under the Will, his son is designated as the first heir and successor to the throne. Should he be unable to assume the throne, succession passes in order to Prince Komwiswa Yoweri, followed by Prince Nyaika Solomon.

The President says he was told by Omukama Oyo's mother that the king left behind a 'young boy.'

"Fortunately, in a telephone call, Her Royal Highness Kemigisa told me that H.H. Oyo left a young boy heir that will be introduced to the public at the right time."

Deputy Speaker @Thomas_Tayebwa, who is the current President of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) and Co-President of the OACPS–European Union Joint Parliamentary Assembly, while addressing the 121st OACPS Council of Ministers at the Egmont Palace in Brussels asked the gathering to place trade, industrialisation and value addition at the centre of their development agenda if they are to catch up with their peers in the developed world. He shared with them a message that H.E. @KagutaMuseveni has consistently championed over the years, which avers that Africa and the developing world cannot achieve meaningful prosperity by exporting raw materials while importing finished products. He also highlighted that Africa possesses an estimated US$29.5 trillion in mineral wealth, yet continues to lose enormous value because most of these resources leave the continent in raw or minimally processed form.

Kyegegwa District is worried about the rise in HIV/AIDS cases from fifty people per month to two hundred.
This comes after the district health office alerted the district that in the past five months, they have recorded 1,044 new cases in the district, compared to last year when they had only 200.
They say that this might be due to the number of people living with HIV in the district who no longer want to come to pick up their drugs from the hospital.

According to Wilber Arinaitwe, the malaria focal person for Bushenyi, checking the expiry dates of mosquito nets is crucial. He noted that each net is designed to be effective for only three years.
