For most of the #AfricanWomen currently enslaved in #Lebanon, their only hope for survival, repatriation, and access to basic needs are donations raised by activists NOT their governments.

Being a #black migrant domestic worker in 🇱🇧 equates to being:
A victim of #moderndayslavery
A victim of continuous & unknowledged #Racism
A victim of countless failures of #African leaders
A victim of physical & sexual harassments
A victim of corrupt 🇱🇧 politicians & politics
Your donation can make a huge difference in these women's life. These migrant domestic workers are currently stranded in #Lebanon and their living conditions have been dire. Please consider donating to this fundraiser.

Before, the #Beirut_Explosion, the living & working conditions of #AfricanWomen in #Lebanon were dreadful. With the explosion, the conditions exacerbated
Amidst all these, none of the #AfricanNations has responded to the simple demand from these women which is to be repatriated
What is #Kafala in Swahili, Akan, Somali, French & Kinyarwanda ?
One way to abolish Kafala is to explain it using our local languages.
#AfricanWomen are the major victims of Kafala & thousands of them are often tricked into this #moderndayslavery bcs they don't know what it is
Congratulations to #MCFScholar Ronald Mukunde on a successful thesis defense on "Implementation of the AASHTO Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide (AASHTOWare Pavement-Me Design) for Flexible Pavements-The Case of Uganda 🇺🇬."
He graduated with an ME in Civil Engineering!
These are heartbreaking stories from 21 Sub-Saharan #African students at #AUB recounting racial discrimination and harassment that they faced during their time in #Lebanon and at AUB.

What's taking #Lebanese to understand that this #moderndayslavery??
Honestly, I you are #Lebanese and you treat your domestic worker like this and you sitll follow me, kindly do unfolllow me🙏🏿.
Workers are not #slaves and certainly #African women are not slaves.
#AbolishKafala
The #Kafala system in #Lebanon is another form of white supremacy embedded in the Lebanese community. The first and foremost step to abolish this system is to acknowledge its existence and its violation of human rights and dignity.
#BlackLivesMatter
Something needs to be done urgently. In 3 days,3 domestic workers(#African women) dead in #Lebanon. It's unfortunate that 🇱🇧 is facing an economic crisis but this doesn't take away our morals to treat each other like humans not valueless animals.
#African leaders where are you?
Dear #Lebanon, this is inhumane & it needs to stop. This is slavery and practicing it is explicitly admitting your backwardness and savagery.
SHAME ON YOU IF you still confuse employing a domestic worker with "owning"her. SHAME ON YOU If you've ever bought a maid.
#AbolishKafala
There are two things I learned since I came to #Lebanon. The power of Resilience and Courage. I may not be able to abolish #Kafala system but I will not regret not trying it.
Leave a memory not a dream
To all the migrant workers in #Lebanon, you are phenomenal women
#WomansD
Today, I celebrate all the migrant domestic workers in #Lebanon. With the injustice, racism and deplorable working conditions they face, these powerful women never cease to be the heroines and hope of their children, husbands, and families that they left in their home countries.
Happy Black History Month
So proud of all the individuals who contributed the success of black people. Each day, we are rewriting our own history.
