I get really emotional about being a librarian sometimes, because it really is such a grateful job on so many levels.
I have a book club and we don't really have that many members at each meet, but the people who show varies so much that the grand total is around 15 people.
And at least 3 of these I know for a fact made a big personal effort to show up despite their shyness and fears. Because they are new in town and have no friends their age here, and moved here for work or a partner or both. And they have a great time here. And meet others their

Kinda funny interaction today at work. We had a break-in (not fun) and police had me check the cameras. Had the handsome police officer sitting in my office for a good 30 mins of pleasant conversation while checking the different angles and stuff.

A friend gave me a book journal for 100 books for Christmas. So now my goal is to fill it all in this year with novels, audiobooks and comics. All 100 of them. Wish me luck!
