SB19 is earning praise once again after a video of the group performing “GENTO” at Fusion Freedom 2023 resurfaced online, showing how they carried on despite sudden technical problems.

During the performance, the backing track unexpectedly cut out, disrupting the stage production. The group, however, continued singing and dancing, impressing netizens for keeping the performance going without relying solely on the backing track.

“Proof that they practiced so hard that it is ingrained muscle memory,” one netizen commented.

Another wrote, “Magkakaalaman talaga kung sino ‘yong tunay ‘pag pumalpak ‘yong sound engineer. Sa mga pop groups ngayon parang air traffic controller ‘yong sound engineer, ‘pag pumalpak, disaster talaga!”

The incident was also discussed in SB19’s “PAGTATAG!” documentary, where the group’s director could be heard saying, “Don’t turn off the mic without telling them first.”

According to the documentary footage, the performance was reportedly the group’s second attempt at the song. The members could have continued singing the entire track a cappella had their microphones not been turned off.

For fans, the resurfaced clip offers another glimpse of the preparation behind SB19’s live performances and the pressure performers face when technical problems arise onstage.

Meanwhile, SB19’s concert film, “Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale,” is screening exclusively in SM Cinemas nationwide, giving A’TIN another opportunity to experience the group’s concert on the big screen.
