To clean up a muddy mix, cut out certain frequencies that may sound bad alone, but work well in the mix. Panning can also help. Think of your mix like a puzzleβremoving some frequencies helps all the sounds fit together better.

Record each guest on their own track so you can edit them individually. Check the levels on each track when recording. With digital recording it's better to record too low than too high. Digital distortion is hard to get rid of and sounds nasty. #podcast
