In SA food safety is managed by both the Department for Health & Wellbeing and local gov. Part A of our upcoming report looks at how the Department oversees & supports councils in managing food safety, with Part B reviewing the food safety activities of two local gov entities.
Our 2024-25 audits identified recurring issues across some agencies, including the need to strengthen payroll processing controls, improve asset management, enhance contract management practices and lift the quality of financial reporting and governance arrangements.
