Returning home brings sober thoughts,
back to our job.
Splish, splosh.
Raindrops.
Still, morning comes and the sun is warm whispering of promises on the cheeks,
it speaks of summer days to come.

Color blooms on the cheeks and shoulders becoming the holder of the memories made in the days filled with laughter and a weightlessness we haven’t felt since October.

The mirror reflects a small face.
You have so much to say,
But the louder voices pave your way.
They announce,
You’re too young to know.
So you wait.
Then you grow.
You’re a teen and they say,
Honey, you think you know everything. 1/

They were never going to let you have the mic,
Or stand in their light.
They were buying your time.
On your dime.
Get in line.
No!
Love.
Please don’t wait.
The End. 6/6
A tragic mistake.
No choice to un-wait,
Rewind,
Take back time,
Shine the entire life,
And scream or sing,
But say what you needed to say,
Because they were never going to give you anything. 5/
