Hmm, 🤔why do people get the impression that Hans is older than Henry... The 15-year-old setting in the first game is actually historically grounded, and the second game bumped it up to 20 to avoid controversy...but even so, Hans is still younger than Henry. Henry thinks of him as a whelp and a younger brother, after all...
In KCD1, Hans is described as having just come of age and is clearly still finding his place, while Henry already has his parents' blessing with Bianca and is about to take over the smithy. Based on that, I personally lean toward Henry being slightly older, not by much, they're close in age either way. What struck me as odd was people stating so confidently that Hans is the older one, which is what made me question it in the first place.
An actor's age doesn't have to match their character's, that's pretty standard. You wouldn't say a character is 40 just because the actor is. Given that KCD2 made a blanket adjustment without either character having a confirmed birthday, assuming Hans is the older one seems like a bit of a stretch, especially with the way Henry's dialogue hints at a certain dynamic between them. That said, I personally think Henry reads as slightly older, in mindset if not strictly in age. A blacksmith's son already set to inherit the family trade in medieval times tends to carry himself that way.
