At least 20 people have been killed today in Bago. Hundreds of dozens of people left the town already. - 5 local residents told me. The death toll may rise.

VOICES FROM INSIDE MYANMAR
🗣”We need a supply of bullet-proof vests.”
🗣”My Aunty has no WiFi. I can’t reach her.”
🗣”My son gave his life for this.”
🗣”It’s state-sponsored terrorism.”
🗣”I’m worried for my brother in prison.”
🗣”We are left with no option but to fight back.”
The poorer the area, the more dangerous protesting can get. A young man posted:
"I don’t have a bulletproof vest, boots or shoes like wealthy people, I have only slippers and a helmet&shield which were donated to me. Am I doing my duty 4 my country?"
