During my final semester as an SDSU journalism student, I participated in the #JMS550 capstone course with Professor @cuevacha. Throughout the course, I produced a multimedia story about the Pala Band of Mission Indians' fight against the impact of drought on native plants.

“There's no disconnect between cultural resources and natural resources,” Pala Environmental Director Shasta Gaughen said. “The air is a tribal cultural resource, the water is, the plants are, the animals are, you know, the nonhuman relatives."
