ICYMI: Toronto's waterfront is getting its first public library.
Last week, Deputy Mayor @ausmalik, @torontolibrary and Waterfront Toronto announced a new TPL branch at Quayside, providing a vital community hub for a rapidly growing neighbourhood.
This will be TPL's 102nd branch and the first on Toronto's waterfront. The branch builds on more than a decade of planning to bring library services to the eastern waterfront, and it shows what partners can deliver when they work together toward complete communities: not just homes, but the services and amenities that make a neighbourhood work.

I'm so proud to bring the first library to Toronto’s waterfront!
The library will be the ultimate community hub, serving new and current residents. Through unprecedented partnership, alongside $9 million in funds that I allocated from Section 37, we've made this a reality.
A new Toronto Public Library branch is coming and it’s the first on Toronto’s waterfront.
Following City Council approval on June 24, Deputy Mayor @ausmalik, @torontolibrary and Waterfront Toronto announced today that the new branch will be delivered at Quayside, a new waterfront community, creating a vital community hub to support a rapidly growing neighbourhood.
This milestone builds on more than a decade of planning by Toronto Public Library and the @cityoftoronto to expand library services along the eastern waterfront. And, it reflects what can be achieved when municipal leaders, staff and partners work together toward a shared vision of complete communities - delivering not only homes, but also the infrastructure, services and amenities that support vibrant, connected neighbourhoods.
