@ColinDMello Definitley. Thoughts like, where is the full network of bike lanes missing that prevents users from using the empty one, would be the most intelligent question you could ask. That will give people a faster, cheaper, easier to park choice theyll gladly take for short trips.
@laurencyclist@adamfleming@BBCRadio4 Great representation. I was appalled by your fellow participant pulling the "because I'm dutch" card all the time to then blurt out weakly reasoned concepts many Dutch would disagree with. Countryside? Covered in bike infrastructure. Hills all over the east & south too. Etc.
Every crash in this story involves a e-bike colliding with a motor vehicle.
All could’ve been avoided if e-bike riders were protected from cars (or if there were no cars).
Fight the real enemy.

@angryasian The Dutch are used to them, but here's one in practice. Cyclists own their portion without dispute, driver's roll behind when opposed traffic is coming or centrally when free.
@angryasian Pretty standard road design for NL; Dotted lines give cyclists space to ride 2 abrest, and cars use the bike portion for 1 wheel to drive 2 directions in the normal lane position. Cars wait behind when opposing traffic prevents them using the car primary middle segment.
How journalists report traffic violence:
"The pedestrian, who may have been distracted by their phone, died at the hospital."
"The cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, will be buried Friday."
"The driver, who remained at the scene, fears they will suffer nightmares."
@singletrackmag if you rode with this oval setup, it might serve well to update the max diameter timing for a high pivot chain entry angle (blue). In this photo the oval was set up for a classic direct chain line (pink). Fix = advance the ring ~90° clockwise.
Todays worldwide #KidicalMass illustrates that the call for more child-friendly streets does not come from a small minority.
Look at the kids and parents having a party!
