@ultim8nik That come to mind: Nitter (3rd party Twitter frontend), Mastodon (Twitter alternative), Instagram, PixelFed (Instagram alternative), Imgur and Pinterest.
@Fuwan0vel There's also #RSS through #Nitter for us weirdos who don't access Twitter's UI directly (except for commenting/reacting), e.g.:

@__alula And with or without Gecko surviving as a fork, I hope Chromium alternatived go like Linux, where despite the concern of there being too many options to choose from, it still sees a steady growth.
@__alula Additionally, if people want to stick to Firefox, Firefox itself has shown a fork can survive after the OG project dies, and there are a few promising Firefox forks about.
@the_artbomb@yano_gamedev Been going through my bookmarks and other notes with similar purposes almost every day for some 3 years now, and only this past month I've seen tangible progress. 🥲
But it's an ever-growing beast, so the sooner it is dealt with, the better.
@jkalp17@yano_gamedev Even the "game key cards" in the NS2 are a ticking time bomb. How long till the developers/publishers decide they don't want to keep downloads up anymore? Nintendo also has historically shown to be against backing up. After that, these cartridges will glorified pieces of trash.
@jkalp17@yano_gamedev Reminds me, also on the Vita, Persona 3 and 5 Dancing only had a physical release in Japan, and even then, they have a comically large amount of DLCs which are going away with the PS Store, and that DRM makes backing up hard if not illegal depending on the jurisdiction.
@Fuwan0vel@Hatanovel "Either" because I was going to comment how Threads has native ActivityPub integration (though opt-in), but I remembered people in the fediverse generally don't seem to like Meta, and I forgot the "either" after removing the rest.
@OffgridwithJD@LundukeJournal Having seen WinXP machines being used in production just fine, and using a 2006 laptop with WinVista for gaming and backing up physical medias every now and then, I'd disagree. With up-to-date soft&firmwares being made for those, even online functions can be safely used.
