Y3 are currently working on writing instructions in English. What better way to understand the purpose of instructions than to have a go at following them ourselves?!
Autumn term is complete! We’ve had an amazing start to KS2 and engaged in lots of new learning. We hope you all have a lovely break and we will see you all again on Monday 6th January to see what Spring term has in store! 😁
Preparations last week were also very thorough! It was great to see so many children trying different foods and taste testing salad ingredients…even if we weren’t quite sure how we felt about all of them!
Amazing work from Y3 children, who have spent this half term learning about stop motion animation in computing. They have applied their learning to create their own animations and the results have been brilliant! If I could award you all an Oscar I would! 🏆
We’ve been getting stuck in to our science learning this half term! We’ve been exploring rocks and soils - and what better way than getting our hands dirty with some soil sample investigations and making our own edible layers of the Earth! (In separate lessons of course!) 🪨
What a busy final half term we’ve had! Lots of hands on learning, getting outdoors in our lessons and applying our knowledge practically. Well done Y3!
Today in Maths, Y3 collected a range of data from other children in the class. We used a tally to record our results before recording them using pictograms and bar charts. Excellent results all round! 📊
Some super Science work last week as Y3 explored the relationship between a light source and shadows and investigated what happened to the shadow when the light source was moved! 🔦
A huge well done to Y3 for their fantastic behaviour on our local walk this afternoon!
We will be creating our own maps of our local area in Geography and this helped us to spot lots of features and symbols to include on our maps and in our keys! 🗺️
We took our Maths outside today and went hunting for angles - right, acute and obtuse! It was great to see so many children thinking creatively in their search for angles 📐
A HUGE well done and congratulations to our superstar football league winners who brought the trophy to Austhorpe last week. You have all put in excellent effort this year and the hard work has paid off! 🏅🏆⚽️
We’ve had a busy couple of weeks in Y3! We’ve started new topics in our curriculum areas and we’ve done some drama and debating linking to our English topic of Myths and Legends. Great work all round Y3 👏
A huge well done to our triathletes who participated in the Brownlee Triathlon yesterday. You should all be so proud of yourselves and your incredible achievement 👏🏅
Y3 have been exploring Plants this half term in Science, and this week we were looking at seed dispersal. We even created our very own wind dispersal using dandelions and described how the seeds floated away! 💨
