I’ve never been to a cow sale where the heifers weren’t bred to “easy calving black angus bulls”.
Apparently everyone is very consistent on their breeding programs. #cattletales
Sorry consumers the prices you are paying at retail stores keeps getting more expensive even though cattle prices are nose diving. It’s fair to ask “if ranchers aren’t making as much anymore, but I’m still paying higher prices at the grocery store who is making the money?”
Since this post:
Nov Feeder Cattle: -$35.025 (-9.4%)
Dec Live Cattle: -$22.10 (-9.1%)
Beef: Choice +$6.75, Select +$9.65
There's a winner here and its not the consumer and for sure not the cattle producers...
AM Boxed #beef 1.64 higher to 377.40 on choice and select 5.29 higher to 363.26 on 59 loads #cattle
AM National #hogs unchanged
AM #pork cutout 1.34 lower to 101.40 #hogs
Missouri stock trailer corn is rated good to excellent for its late plant date. Threw it over the fence to some fat cattle, gotta keep it sustainable! Eat Beef!
Remember boys
Maybe some heifers are being retained
If true bullish for awhile
Retaining and keeping are dependent on grass
Retaining heifers when old cows are $180cwt is not the same as retaining heifers when old cows are $70cwt
Money isn't 3% anymore
