@KevinKekic This is a great video that shows a device that is used for something you don’t think of too often and what we take for granted: changing the channels on a tv. Good for the kid to have access to this technology to help him do something normal and accessible.
@MayMayMagic000 Muhammad Ali was, arguably, the greatest fighter of that era and to see how PD took that away from him is devastating. Boxing was his life and was not able to do what he loved anymore because of this degenerative disease. He is a great example to study for PD.
@docgoble 0:07 - 0:09s The sweepers are using their motor cortex to precisely sweep in front of the disc while also maintaining their balance. The motor cortex plans the complex rapid movement of their arms sweeping in front of the disc.
@KevinKekic Hey Kevin, I like your post and find it interesting about the idea of measuring the person’s quads during a sit to stand. I find this area of PT interesting because it is a very common movement in people and in my field, I should understand it so I can properly treat people.
@MayMayMagic000 This dunk is insane. I’ve never seen it before now and it blows my mind how he did it. The amount of power he produced to jump that high mixed with the motor control he has to move the ball between his legs and swing the ball into the basket. Great example of human movement.
I’m taking #EXS3030@oaklanduSHS with @DocGoble because I want to pursue a career in physical therapy where motor control plays a big part in treatment and diagnosis. It will provide me with information with how to help my patients effectively.
