Another reason I'm getting off this app. Spamming notifications with garbage is the final desperate engagement tool in the toolbox, and is generally only used when product KPIs around traffic/engagement are falling off a cliff.
@carlvellotti Eh, I totally disagree. Timing is critically important to wick away disaffected Twitter users. Threads built a SLC product; and will iterate over time. Maybe this is a problem of the media & smart people wildly overstating market expectations for Threads at launch?
https://t.co/XbB54rq6xb After 8 months of willfully eroding the trust of his users, destabilizing the platform infra & gifting his biggest rival the time & opportunity to create a quality clone, @elonmusk FINALLY makes his first definitively smart product decision @Twitter

Pt. 1 of 3 - Elon’s attempt to extort Twitter’s highest quality content creators (verified folks) will be studied in B-School as the worst product pricing decisions in tech history, while also being a massive misunderstanding of what drives twitter’s platform value/stickiness.
@InternetH0F There’s a lot more information I need before I accept the money. Does my snail have snail intelligence or a super genius snail intelligence, as if genius it could stow away and catch flights, etc, so nowhere would be safe.
@alex_kirshner@Slate From reading this, your framing appears to be - bad faith bigots want an all out ban, or
tolerant libs should let trans athletes compete as their identified gender, with no regard for biological considerations. It’s sport specific & is complex, I wish you broached that more.
My former boss, @BarackObama has some incredible advice that I think is ESPECIALLY relevant for fellow Product Managers - have a bias towards impact, execution & getting shit done. https://t.co/We9g1ctSRP
The fact that black women in America die in childbirth at 3x the rate of the rest of the population is one of the most visible and tragic signs of the implicit biases in healthcare delivery & the incredibly unequal access to quality prenatal care.
The U.S. Olympic track star Tori Bowie died during childbirth in May, according to an autopsy report shared with The New York Times. The autopsy lists respiratory distress and eclampsia as possible complications.

I understand why people on the west coast are upset that the smoke affecting NYC is a bigger story than the west coast wildfire smoke but they need to realize the lives of people in nyc and the northeast in general are much more valuable than those of people on the west coast
@JonathanCohn As I understand it from a local realator friend: Elderly Syrian brothers that are at odds as to sell or keep the property. Has been the case for something like 30 years. I think one/both will need to pass for anything to change with this wild unique property.
@dieworkwear I’ve been stepping out a bit at the office with some wider, pleated chinos, oversized topcoats/ chore coats, Nike x Tom sachs sneakers, black loafers, etc. Setting the fit culture in the office is yeoman’s work. Office men’s style renaissance incoming.
@HITpolicywonk@healthapiguy Having white-labeled Aidbox as a FHIR repo for a previous product, the performance of their system is a market differentiator. Especially with some of the higher resourced FHIR calls, building in-house would be incredibly difficult to hit customer SLAs.
@thisweekinmls I've torn ligaments in my foot, ACL issues, due to this lack of energy transfer, exclusively on turf. Obviously better gear can mitigate the issue, but turf doesn't tear, so your joints/ligaments do instead. There's a reason why the top players & clubs don't use/play on turf...
@thisweekinmls Turf fields are inherently more dangerous. For example: When changing direction, you plant your feet, exerting max effort. On grass, if you push too hard, you rip the grass - aka you slip. On turf your boot sticks, regardless of the energy output - putting undue stress on joints.
