Purposeful, authentic, story-driven content is more effective and more valuable than ever.
Investing in creative = building your athletes’ brands + increased access for your fans and donors.
Properly monetized, there’s no better vehicle for growth in today’s landscape.
NEW: Teams aren't posting many (if any) game highlights during March Madness.
On X, they're posting GIFs or stick-figure drawings. On IG/FB, they're limited to just 1 minute--or forced to pay thousands.
The reason: March Madness content licensing rules.

Creative content should be viewed as COMPLIMENTARY to broadcast footage, not COMPETITIVE.
Growing an audience through social media by building connections and showing the human side of sport increases the likelihood of individuals tuning in to broadcasts/streams AND attending in person.

The March Madness social policy allows for 1 minute on IG/FB. $5K fee to go up to 5 minutes. Videography is limited to one person. Video cannot be posted in game.
Let the team creators create. It enhances all brands/parties involved. We want to see these stories and images from the team’s best storytellers on the inside. You’re bad at this part, @MarchMadnessMBB & @veritoneinc. Stop telling us you’re going to fix it and actually fix it.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS posting content doesn't hurt the NCAA in the slightest. In fact, their content only helps and enhances the product because they're in the middle of it.
I understand all of this is about money, but they ain't losing money when a team posts a cinematic recap.
Memories of Sister Jean and her relationship with @RamblersMBB will forever be a part of college basketball.
Despite her passing last year, it’s clear her legacy of love and kindness will live on as well.
Sister Jean was an integral part of @RamblersMBB years before making the national stage during Loyola Chicago’s magical run to the Final Four in 2018.
Even after her passing earlier this year, it remains clear she’ll always be with the Ramblers.
March Madness won’t be the same without Sister Jean. Thinking about the Loyola University Chicago community and everyone who loved this remarkable woman. https://t.co/9O09E9zdMA
