@BRamseyKSR Oweh, Williams, Almonar, and Garrison are the biggest surprises. Krissa, Chandler, Carr, Butler, Robinson, and Brea are kind of what I thought they were going to be. Overall Oweh being an NBA level 3 and D is the biggest surprise. Williams can do more than I expected.
@KevinOConnorNBA Kentucky got better when we stopped calling plays for Randle & he just set screens and rebounded. Started playing through the Harrison twins. Should’ve won title, NCAA was on the Hungry Huskies nuts. Google Alex Poythress charge, worst call I’ve seen in a big moment for Kentucky
@BrandoAKing Cal had some uk teams he broke them down & rebuilt them by March. Ark has a high degree of difficulty on offense. It looks like it pains them to pass. The modern game is: guard the 3, protect the rim, hit 3’s and attack the rim. They’ve got the attack the rim part down. 3 to go
@Hogballburner It’s hard to say if Cal can adapt. He can definitely recruit, but I think you need a base of 3 and D guys to develop around incoming star frosh & transfers. Cal’s pitch hits best with NBA prospects. Needs to recruit the best shooter in the Arkansas/Missouri/Memphis area every yr.
@Hogballburner A lot of Cal’s teams took until March to optimize and we had some great runs. The difference is that college basketball has seen a seismic shift. Transfer portal, NIL, and more analytical approach. Athletically gifted freshmen that can’t shoot don’t fit this new era.
@DanWolken Arkansas looked like it pained them to pass to one another. Poor shooting is the main issue on offense. If they make more 3’s it will open up those drives. They have talent.
@RealJayWilliams@KentuckyMBB Clemson is going to be a very tough matchup, probably will get our wings clipped on the first road game. If even that one look out
@BleedBlueCasey We probably aren’t going to win a championship. I’m glad we are good enough to dream, but we don’t have title talent. It’s pretty hard to play through your bigs in March. Typically great guard play is more important. I think our playing style fits our talent the best it can.
@KySportsRadio Playing any other way would not be as effective With our talent. It is important to attack early in transition when the defense is off balance. We lack one star guy we can go to for easy offense vs a set defense. Good defense is going to make things tough. Clemson will be tough
@KevinOConnorNBA I would not hate Charlotte for Flagg. They seem to be heading in The direction of competence. That Size and Skill with Ball, Miller, Flagg would be an interesting core. You just add rim protection and 3 and D around that and you could have something special.
@OleDavis22 Congratulations, glad to see the Freshmen get involved. I’m a UK fan, I have love for these guys and Cal. Genuinely enjoying our new approach, but Cal w a fresh start will be good. I’m guessing he has a 7 year run in him.
@agershon99 No hate for Brock. We do need to see what Cutter can do. Hoping Cutter can give us a shot in the arm and momentum for next year. Brock is a tough guy and I’d love for him to come back for his last year. I understand if he wants to play somewhere else.
@KySportsRadio I welcome Brock back as a backup, I like him and wish him well wherever he is. He’s probably best suited for a run first (and second) offense like Vandy. UK has tried to become more balanced passing/running. Will need a little more talented thrower like Cutter to play that way.
@KevinOConnorNBA What do you think of the fit of Maxey/McCain as a championship backcourt? Reminds me a little of smaller and offense-first backcourt of the recent Blazers with Dame/CJ then Simons/Scoot… do you think bigger guards/wings to stagger with them would make this work?
@MrsTylerKSR Hope Boley can put some meat on his bones to survive the SEC! Wilcox has looked like our best RB all season. Hopefully Key stays. With the ball coming out quicker from Boley, hoping others develop.
