A bit of a surprise as the Niagara IceDogs have released #2026NHLDraft Ben Reisnecker. The Czech RHD appeared in 58 games for Niagara with a goal and 10 points, having appeared with the U18 team. Unknown if he'll sign elsewhere or return to Czechia.
This is major news
Rudolph’s commitment to Denver props up the University of Michigan as the front-runner for Landon DuPont, per many sources
We will see. One way or another, DuPont will be the biggest commit college has seen in many, many years.

Mensik vs Fonseca has been nothing short of an amazing match. Surely not the last time these two meet, and surely not the last they meet deep into a tournament.
Every day until the #2026NHLDraft, we will be spotlighting a player that will be hearing their name called out in Buffalo later this month.
First up, we have Memorial Cup champion Alexander Bilecki.

Among the most interesting upside in the 2026 Draft class
Bilecki could be a serious, top-50 talent come draft day
This is a great place to start one of the series I’m most excited for this month. Offside News is worth checking out
The Vancouver Canucks are hiring Manny Malhotra as their next head coach per @frank_seravalli
They have the third overall pick, with Malhotra's son, Caleb, a top candidate to be selected. Last time a dad coached his son was Dave Lowry coaching Adam as Jets interim HC in 21-22.
Sources say #Canucks have a deal in place to make Manny Malhotra the 23rd head coach in franchise history.
Zero surprise, the Canucks’ Calder Cup winner isn’t going anywhere. He’s won with Johnson and was a teammate of the Sedins.
Announcement and timing TBD.
My end of May Rankings for the #2026NHLDraft
Opinions are starting to crystallize, and tiers are gaining clarity, but still potential for a lot of movement before the draft.
Two re-entry players I could see being drafted late are Ryerson Leenders & Hunter Laing.
Leenders has international experience for Canada and was solid in net for Brantford in the playoffs. Laing is a 6'6 right shot center who might have NHL 4C upside if his skating can improve.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have relinquished the signing rights to prospects Matthew Hlacar and Nathan Mayes, according to @PuckPedia
Both are now eligible to be selected in this year's draft.
For what it's worth, Denver was the favorite for Landon DuPont when I asked around to start the year. Everyone wants him, but the Pioneers been leading the race for a while.
A good reason for David Carle to stay.
I don't know where Landon DuPont will go next season, if he does indeed remain in the WHL or heads to college, but NCAA appears the likeliest.
Have been hearing Denver linked the most although every program wants DuPont, the clear favorite to be the 2027 first overall pick.
Very likely this is Landon DuPont last game with the Everett Silvertips. Like Gavin McKenna last year, doubtful to return for a second chance at the Memorial Cup.

With Joao Fonseca, Rafael Jodar, & Arthur Fils getting all the attention, it's nice seeing Jakub Mensik showcase that he's just as promising as the other three, perhaps arguably the most composed of the four as of current.
