@Deere_Salesman A lot of misinformation in the comments, so maybe this will help. DEF is to drop out NOx, DPF is for particulate matter. The leaner the burn, the less PM and more NOx you have. No free lunch with emissions.

@Mullin_95 @Deere_Salesman Yes, because DEF tanks are sized for 16 hours of operation. But if you run at a lower load, def consumption could increase. Sounds like too much power for the application, maybe.

@veager @Deere_Salesman Emissions are per unit of power. So, if you have a more efficient DPF at higher HP, you can lose the DEf system. Only problem is exhaust gas has to be hotter. Equipment still has to meet tier emissions, so yes there is EGR and required regen for the DPF.
