However, game theory really doesn’t apply here since your actions don’t meaningfully interact with others outcomes. Again, it is an ill-posed question.

The original question still is really asking: “Given the world outcome that’s about to happen anyway, which button would you press?”

If you and I were in a room with 8 strangers and faced with the same question, I’m picking blue, but it doesn’t translate to the global population.

My red vote only “kills you” if it changes the global threshold. If it doesn’t, then it didn’t determine your death, it only determined whether I survive the outcome.

If there was an implication of collaboration beforehand, I would agree with you. But the question is posed in a way that does not give your decision weight, you are only voting for yourself.
