To be clear, this doesn’t mean Kamala did anything wrong. It seemed that her hands were largely tied by a Dem establishment that was completely out of touch.
@AsteadWH did not hold back on The Daily this morning. Absolutely nailed the analysis of this election. A failure by the Dems to fully supply a vision of change to Americans. The core of Dems winning message from the Obama era and Biden 2020 victory.
Kamala Harris has plans to address the biggest concern I've heard from every kind of voter in every kind of focus group: the cost of housing, health care, food, and raising a family.
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher To the extent she just wanted to do it, she earned the right to make that choice. But it didn’t look to me that she really wanted to do what she did today.
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher I just think that if Fiona really did want to drop out, the system (and the people around her) should allow/help her to do that while losing out on as little as possible.
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher 100% agreed. I think that problem can/should be solved. What’s wrong with changing the rules and giving the title of Olympian when an athlete meets the criteria and is selected to their countries team? (Other than the obvious: dealing with a giant bureaucracy.)
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher If it’s the title of Olympian, maybe we need to think about when that title is “given.” She earned that title by winning the trials IMO. Starting the race did nothing to change it.
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher I don’t think we can know if she was or was not medal ready now, but we do know that Fiona wasn’t considering she hobbled for 10 minutes and had to drop.
@des_linden @LifeAt130BPM @karagoucher Someone has to step up and protect Fiona here. USATF, her agent, someone has to step in and make sure she gets the 💰 she earned by getting to this point (assuming a contract issue), protect her body by not running, and give team USA the best shot at a medal by letting Jess run.
This is going viral & it’s nonsense
It’s his pre-race routine.
You’re not abandoning your routine when you have doubts. If anything it helps him convince himself & body he’s okay.
Also, it’s a sprint. Zero fatigue is coming from this. If anything it helps prime his muscles.
