Probably the worst part about the “controversy” last night is Patrick Mahomes seemed to legitimately expect that the officials would pick up a flag that was thrown immediately at the snap because the play ended up looking really cool. The flag was on the ground from the start.

Vikings win after Saints failed Hail Mary. Chewing clock is understandable to a point but at what point do you just put the game away and stop giving them chances? Defense was tremendous here and the offense was zero help.

Vikings settle for a FG from the 12 yard line and go up 20-15 with 3:17 left. Could’ve been more aggressive here and played for a TD to make it a 2 possession game. Denver scores a TD on the next drive and wins the game.

Bears kick a field goal on the next drive and win the game. Could’ve been more aggressive here to seal the game with first downs.

Each post-game press conference O’Connell talked about finding a balance between clock management and putting the game away but each week calls a conservative game and doesn’t put the game away. Beyond frustrating to watch and listen to week after week. O’Connell is better than this. The Vikings are better than this.
