I just think Pat is in a completely different stratosphere than Ryan. Ryan has been running this playbook outside of ESPN already. The Pivot has been a brand for years, and Pat was signed to Barstool he then used that platform to sign with FanDuel before eventually moving to ESPN. Both had clear backing of large institutions.

My personal feelings about ESPN aside I do think they've done a good job of prioritizing ex-athletes. Ryan Clark was very clearly a case of someone who was making a lot of money and who was not well-liked by his peers (as is evident by the Peter Schrager incident) or by the audience.
