Finally making my pinned post! Hello, my name is Austin. This is the artist account of @AustinWyckes. I draw a lot of my original fantasy and medieval characters and constantly talk about history.
i was gonna say something comparing aerion and his infatuation toward baelor as the epitome to targaryen greatness to aemond's attraction toward his own mother wanting him to reinforce targ tradition. both aerion and aemond have targaryen imposter syndrome and
like yeah aerion might actually be unhealthily attracted to baelor to the point of wanting his approval, but he sees baelor as a targaryen man who should've been king. and aemond himself wants to keep up toxic targrayen inbreeding traditions
Historic court pageantry at its finest. These allegorical knights representing "Sol" (the Sun) and "Luna" (the Moon) were illustrated by Wilhelm Dilich in 1598. They document the lavish 4-day public celebrations for the christening of Princess Elisabeth of Hesse.
@Undrscore_Vinyl YESS. you get it! like i would've loved an actual narrative that showed that even padme herself isn't immune from corruption, even if she doesn't realize. it would've been amazing to have her go through a character arc and then actually do something about the clones.
the clone wars show ruined a lot of her character for me, specifically her relationship with the clone troopers. she sat on a council that enacted slavery and never once did she call it out on the basis of slavery, but because they were too expensive to keep on making.
leaving anakin to burn alive was VERY cruel and obi-wan did it to be cruel, not because he wanted to show him mercy. obi-wan was angry and was struggling with the dark side of the force
her also being close to other extremely privileged women line satine and mina who were very much allusions of white supremacy and imperialism never sat right with me.
