Men's Bracketology: 2025 NCAA Tournament https://t.co/pADQCmoyuf. ππ Here's the latest on Selection Sunday morning: Realistically, we are down to three teams (Indiana, Xavier, Boise State) for two spots. After them, Texas has too many losses and North Carolina doesn't have enough good wins for inclusion. Losses today by Memphis (for sure) and/or VCU (should be sure) would reduce the number of open bubble spots to one or zero. Personally, I would take Boise State over either Indiana or Xavier (but doubt the committee will). At the top of the bracket, Auburn could legitimately be reconsidered as a lock for the No. 1 overall seed, but I highly doubt the committee will go there. And Tennessee could surpass Florida for the last 1-seed, but I also doubt the Committee will consider that. Finally, Michigan should be a 4-seed with a win today, but has likely already been slotted as a 5-seed. In the meantime, enjoy the wait...
My heart breaks for North Carolina's Jae'Lyn Withers, whose lane violation cost the Tar Heels a chance to tie tonight's game against Duke.
Hard to see how there's path to March Madness in Chapel Hill.
UNC is 1-12 against Quad 1 opponents.
UCLA falls to #26 in the NET.
On the final day of Selection Committee voting, this is what the Committee will see on the North Carolina resume:
0 elite wins
0 wins vs protected seed
0-10 vs Quad 1A
1-12 vs Quad 1
1-10 vs at-large field
0-8 vs NET Top 20
1-10 vs NET Top 40
0-5 vs ACC's three Tourney teams
2-7 vs Top 7 in ACC (W's home vs SMU and neutral vs Wake)
+ a home Quad 3 loss
8 games vs the NET Top 20 is a lot. They're tough games, I get it. But a Tournament team is expected to win at least one or two of those. UNC whiffed on all of them.
With a MWC bid stealer confirmed last night, I don't see a path to inclusion for North Carolina.
1-12.
ONE AND TWELVE.
Thatβs North Carolinaβs record against Quadrant 1 teams.
That is the level of competition you play in the NCAA Tournament.
This team doesnβt deserve to make it.
North Carolina has one upped Duke for eternity.
And there is absolutely NOTHING that the Blue Devils will EVER be able to do about it.
The Tar Heels are heading to MONDAY NIGHT.
