Congratulations to Austria, Kyrgyzstan, Portugal, Trinidad and Tobago, and Zimbabwe on their election as non-permanent members of the #UNSC for the 2027–2028 term. We wish them every success in discharging this important responsibility.

As Pakistan continues its tenure on the Security Council through 2026, we remain committed to advancing peace, security, dialogue, and multilateral cooperation.

We look forward to working closely with the incoming members in pursuit of our shared objectives and a more peaceful, secure, and equitable world.

Die Wahl in den UNO-Sicherheitsrat stärkt Österreichs Stimme in der Welt – politisch, wirtschaftlich und sicherheitspolitisch.
Die Welt vernetzt sich gerade neu. In diesem Schlüsselmoment ist ein starkes, internationales Netzwerk Voraussetzung für Sicherheit und Stabilität in Österreich. Ich bin heute unglaublich stolz auf Österreich. Mein Dank gilt allen, die diesen Erfolg über die Jahre und zuletzt in einem intensiven Zielsprint ermöglicht haben.

I strongly condemn Russia’s drone strike on a residential building in Romania. Romania has our full solidarity.

Russia is under enormous military and economic pressure. Its response is terror against Ukraine’s civilian population and an attempt to intimidate Europe. But Europe will not be intimidated. Every new act of aggression only makes us more united.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 spoke today with Foreign Minister of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger @BMeinl, and exchanged views on the evolving regional situation.

The Austrian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and its mediation between Iran and the United States, in support of regional peace and stability.

DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to sustained diplomatic engagement, including continued efforts to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the United States, aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Both Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in close contact.
