Today while speaking on the Women Farmer Empowerment Bill, I made a special mention of Bharat Ratna Late Shri. MS Swaminathan ji, who had first tabled such a Bill way back in 2011, in the Rajya Sabha.

While this Bill, passed today, is certainly a step ahead, I urged the agriculture minister to establish centres across every Taluka that would ensure that the women farmers get their due rights, and also are provided support in terms of women’s health (maternity benefits, sanitary pads, vitamin deficiency prevention etc) and that the children have adequate day care support.

These centres can be named after the legendary Bharat Ratna MS Swaminathan for his contribution to agriculture and women farmers.

In the past 24 hours, the number of trees that have fallen across Mumbai only proves what we have been saying: Pre Monsoon Work didn’t happen in Mumbai.

The BJP’s mayor for Mumbai has been more focussed on Bangladesh and the work of the Home Ministry, rather than her own duty towards Mumbaikars.

LoP @KishoriPednekar ji has been visiting places of concern, be it the uncleaned nullahs, the incomplete road works and more.

But the ruling parties have been focussed on their favourite contractors.

What a shame that the highest tax paying city in India has to face such an incapable administration that doesn’t know how to govern.

Show me 1 city in the past 12 years that is run by the bjp- having the Union and State Governments support it, that has done well. All cities it has touch, have collapsed into chaos and corruption

From Metro Slabs crashing to Trees falling on school buses- no citizen is safe anymore.

The trees across Mumbai face a similar fate, so do citizens and rampant concrete work (with the road scam of the past 3 years) around its roots have made the trees along the roads dangerous.

Amidst the ongoing rains across parts of the city, a roadside peepal tree uprooted and crashed onto a school van of Universal High School, Chembur, trapping a student inside on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported to the Mumbai Fire Brigade on Road No. 11 in Chembur. Fire brigade personnel, police, a 108 ambulance and BMC ward staff rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The student was safely rescued from the bus. The cause of the tree collapse is yet to be ascertained.

I’m truly touched by the support we have received for the Neville D’Souza Football Arena in Bandra.

The bjp’s regime in the @mybmc has arbitrarily decided that the playground must be now converted to a convention centre.

After snatching away playgrounds of the youth of this country, and sporting associations, we wonder why we can’t ever make it to those world cups.

Staying up late at night, watching other countries play the @FIFAWorldCup … is that only what India supposed to do? Never dream of playing it?

Access to sports infrastructure is being shut down by the government itself.

The reason behind the bjp doing this is almost 40 years ago, the bjp convention was held there and on grounds around it!

Therefore now, a convention centre with the name of a bjp leader.

Imagine if all political parties start converting their favourite grounds into convention centres across India.

To everyone who supports sports, supports football- I have a humble request: please make sure our voice reaches everywhere!

Also to all the players (at all levels) do help us to amplify our voice!

Imagine on one end, we have politicians wanting to click pictures and share stage with @TeamMessi at a cricket stadium, and at the same time, a football ground is snatched away by the very same political party.

There are open plots around this ground but they want to shut this ground down- because it has young people playing there!

One of the holiest cities, Ujjain, has seen a huge scam which has been exposed.

The Madhya Pradesh CM and his family’s links have been exposed by the media, and yet BJP refuses to sack him.

Bjp defending someone who has looted one of the holiest city, is an attack on the faith of us all- Hindus.

This is BJP’s hindutva, first for electoral gains and then for personal gains!

What a shame!

नीटचा पेपर फुटला, मागील काही वर्षांत एमपीएससीचा पेपर फुटतो आणि आता टीईटीचा पेपर फुटला!

भाजपने संविधान बदलण्यासाठी पक्ष फोडण्यापेक्षा, वारंवार होणारी पेपरफुटी थांबवण्यासाठी लक्ष द्यायला हवे होते. देशाच्या भवितव्याचे हाल करून ठेवले आहेत भाजपने!

गेल्या दशकात महाराष्ट्रात अशा घटना वारंवार घडत असून आपल्या राज्याला बदनाम करून ठेवले आहे.

दरवर्षी तरुण-तरुणींनी फक्त आंदोलनंच करायची का? आमच्या देशातील तरुणाईने आपल्या भविष्याची स्वप्न कधी पाहायची?

If you are wondering about why India isn’t playing the @FIFAWorldCup , despite the population crossing 1.4 billion people, and why countries with much smaller populations than our smallest cities are playing, stop wondering:

🚨 The bjp regime in the @mybmc , backed by orders from the BJP state government, has just converted the Neville D’souza football ground in Bandra West into a convention centre reservation.

A contractor will get his money, a builder will get location benefits and the convention centre will get a bjp leader’s name.

This ground, for the past 9 years has hosted thousands of players and multiple tournaments each season. From grassroots to elite divisions, the Neville D’Souza football ground hosted it all.

Now despite requests from the Mumbai Football Association, it is barred from using its own ground, and now the open space will have a contractor build a convention centre on it.

Bandra West and reclamation, a high traffic density area will see more traffic, right opposite a hospital.

But bjp’s contractors and builders will smile with glee even as children lose their playground and Bandra adds another block of traffic.

As Mumbai Football Association, of course we will now have to pay to use other grounds, but the government is hell bent on crushing sports in Mumbai, as recreation grounds are converted arbitrarily into build up concrete spaces that have controlled and ticketed access.

The core issue is, taking away playgrounds from the youth, taking away grounds from associations and then debating over the future of the game is pointless.

My protest earlier saved 2 recreation grounds in Mumbai, but the bjp wants this plot to name it after one of their leaders as a convention centre.

We also saved the city’s municipal blood banks from privatisation- but this ground was their focus.

If the MEA believes Passport is not a document of citizenship:

1) What do the police verify before granting a passport?

2) Does our country give passports as travel documents to non Indians as well?

3) Wouldn’t this announcement create doubts in the minds of other countries, of whether non Indians get Indian Passports as a travel document?

Beyond its very confused foreign policy, how much more absurd can the MEA become?
