For the last day of this week's summer camp, we took the kids for a short hike to observe and sketch what they saw in nature. While they drew, I snapped a photo of this tree that fascinated me with the way its branches twisted and turned their way to the sky.
The Creator gave blue iether to the seerrine, red iether to the kobay, and gold iether to the isper. Humans had no iether, but those with human blood could wield more than one kind of iether. Only one had been born who carried the burden of all four races in a unified whole.
Teaching K-2nd Graders Nature-Themed Poetry:
Me: What is word we can use to describe a deer?
Enthusiastic K raises his hand: When you're in the water, sharks can bite you.
...
Gotta love the random thoughts of young kids. 🤣
@SueBEdwards@AnnetteWhipple That's very true. I always enjoy it when my husband is able to hunt and bring home enough meat that I don't have to buy any at the store for a while. 😀
This week, I've been teaching nature-themed poetry lessons at Axiom Christian Classical School summer camp. This is the Word-Count Cinquain poem the K-2nd graders came up with as a class. The boy who came up with the 4th line is the same one who suggested the topic because he said deer are his favorite animal...
* Note: a different student picked the word, Fawn.
@AnnetteWhipple Haha! No, I wasn't expecting the poem to go that direction. 😀 I don't have a problem with hunting, either, and also enjoy venison. My dad and husband are both hunters, as well.
Another Five-Minute Friday, another opportunity to free-write my thoughts without editing them, then share them for all to see... 😬
This week's topic: Deal

Five-Minute Friday -- An opportunity to free-write without that annoying internal editor, and then post it for all to see... 😆
This week's topic: Benefit

I'm glad you tried. 😀 I feel like it's a good exercise, regardless, and your ADHD could make for some entertaining free-writes, even if no one ever sees them. 😀 I do type the 5-minute Friday posts, but I also handwrite other 5-minute free-writes. I don't always have much time to write and feel like the free-writes at least keep me moving, practicing, etc. They also help me clear my mind so I can focus on more specific writing projects.
I took my daughter to an Albuquerque Isotopes game with her youth group today. It's been years since over been to one. The home team lost, but it was fun and I got a couple of good pictures. 😀
Happy Birthday to my amazing husband John Fulton @jdfulto . ❤️He has such a brilliant mind and strong heart, works hard and cares deeply for everyone he has been given the care of and responsibility for - both his family at home and his team at work. I couldn't love him more or be more proud of him. ❤️
This year, instead of a cake, he requested his favorite cookie in pizza-size. Mission accomplished. 😀
My latest ACFW Author Interview features a homeschooling mom whose love for teaching her kids about God's world has spilled over into her books, including her debut picture book, God's Wide, Wonderful World.
