April is now!!
No April fools here
It is Autism Acceptance and Inclusion month
Ask questions, let's sit at the table, share/rt, we join spaces and talk!
We are here!
Yes, equity is the goal!!
As Autism Acceptance Month begins, make sure to NOT support groups like A*t!sm Sp€aks, and focus on celebrating neurodiversity, inclusion, and acceptance. We don’t have a “disease”. Listen to our voices, and accept us for who we are.

"It should be Autism Acceptance Month, not Autism Awareness Month. We already have awareness, now we need acceptance."
Actually, we don't already have awareness. The vast majority of people who are not autistic (or undiagnosed) have the wrong idea/understanding of autism.
You know it - every day is #AutismAcceptance and Inclusion day in my life
I keep discovering the wonders and challenges of life and acceptance and #inclusion are not always guaranteed --
Together, we build my future NOW!

Just some examples of stimming. Self-stimulatory behaviour gives autistic individuals control over sensory stimuli & a way to regulate their emotions. Unless it's dangerous to someone's health it shouldn't be discouraged as it's a vital method of self-regulation #AutismAcceptance
Happy World Autism Acceptance Week!
To ‘mask’ means to disguise parts of oneself to better fit in with those around you.
Autistic people who mask show more signs of anxiety and depression, so we must become educated on autism masking, create a safe space and be patient.
April 2nd is World Autism Acceptance Day! Autistics in our community have told us that acceptance is their preferred goal over awareness, and we agree. Help us change this language and work to create acceptance for everyone on the Autism Spectrum. #WAAD#AutismAcceptance

A fundamental part of autism acceptance is accepting your autistic children for who they are. It all starts in the home.

reminders for autism acceptance month:
-its acceptance month, not awareness month, people are already aware of us but dont accept us
-autism speaks is manipulative organization using disabled people to get cash
-puzzle piece symbol should not be used, use infinity symbol instead
Autism Acceptance isn't just a nice idea. It's life-saving.
Many Autists lose their lives or feel trapped in a completely masked or unsupportive life due to inequity and inaccessibility, as well as a lack of autistic-centered supports and services.
I'm tired of hearing the same arguments that ABA therapists use over and over again, so I wrote a new post that breaks them down here:
