A friend whose child was recently diagnosed with autism told me tonight that she's both relieved and overwhelmed. Years ago, I felt that, too, when my sons were diagnosed. It answered many questions but gave me many more to ask. #autism
You hear all the time about #scarcity - energy, time, money, etc. The one thing where there is no scarcity is love - the ability to love yourself and love each other. #Love brings more love. Sharing and spreading love helps it grow exponentially.
That time when you see your son with a disability enjoying his job & feeling supported & being included & your mom heart is wide open with so much gratitude & pride 💗 #autism#disability
Son: Last day of school! Monday!
Me: Do you want today to be the last day of school?
Son: Yes!
Me: You have five more days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Son: No thanks!

I wrote this piece a few years ago after meeting author Jenny Lawson. It was published in The Huffington Post. 💗 Thanks again, @TheBloggess, for speaking with us this morning at The Virtual Erma 2021.

My son's haircut this afternoon was rescheduled due to snow. The first thing son said this morning was, "Haircut." He needs one. Sensory distress! He CAN go today & have someone else cut it, but he refuses because he adores the guy who cuts his hair. #autism#inflexible
