@RissoRaymond@RGPolice No need for letters of exemption for individuals. The exempt categories are described in COVID regulation.
Most police will know the difference from miles away between a genuine law abiding citizen and someone who's trying it on.
To clarify, and to stem avoidable anxiety, there are exemptions to regulation on use of masks, just not for the activities listed by @RGPolice in their tweet below.
Reminder; Please wear your mask at all times in public areas since there are NO exemptions on mask wearing (i.e.; smoking, eating, or drinking.) Thank you for complying.
@RissoRaymond@RGPolice@andrewroberthol You shouldn't have to produce a letter, Raymond. These letters of exemption were for businesses and premises before masks were mandatory in all public places.
Police need to approach people who don't have a mask but please don't jump straight to 'Enforce'. Please assume a condition rather than non-compliance till shown otherwise. Please approach with gentleness and understand that the person may be made very nervous by your approach.
We ask the public and police to be understanding and patient with people they might see without a mask. There may be a very good reason and the reaction they face will itself cause distress. They don't need judgement or scorn: We ask for your support, your respect and kindness.
@jane_webber Thanks, Jane. We had clarification on this after the announcement was made by CM. Glad that the needs of neurodiverse people are recognised.
Today is International Day of People with Disabilities.
Everyone should be mindful and respectful of people living with disabilities, especially given the #COVID19 pandemic.
Remember, you should never challenge anyone for not wearing a face covering.

Dr Camilla Pang on how her autism, rather than being a disorder, has been enabling for her.
"My advice is: carry on, it will be worth it. And even if you’re challenged by the system, that’s just a reminder that you’re built to make a new one."

Hearing from from anxious people in #Gibraltar, feeling criminalised, worried by rumours of hooding for disabled people. Reassurance please, @SamanthaSacra @PHcritique @GibraltarGov, that reasonable adjustments will be respected! This from HM Govt of UK so evidence-led...

Today is International Day of Persons with #Disabilities. We're pleased that @GibraltarGov
is helping to keep up the profile of all our community. Importantly for autistic people, the video reminds us that not all disabilities are visible. https://t.co/OalSSEASg8
