My PC has always been on the floor, under my desk.
It's been on a 'cart' to keep it on a hard surface for the PSU.
Carpet, understandable, but as long as it has airflow where needed, I don't see or have had an issue.

@Niflheimm155983 Dude, mine does this shit all the time. I remove the shortcut arrows and then during heavier cpu workloads, all the arrow icons switch to some random windows stock icon.
