My personal interpretation of the new trailer.

Tsaritsa and 3rd Descender had a child. 3rd is somehow connected to or is the ancestor of the Khanrians. Since their kid isn’t pure blooded, the curse would have turned him into a Hilichurl. So she froze her kid to not turn into one
