A fund platformed on @joinautopilot focused on picking the companies leading the creation of autonomously controlled weapons systems.
Follow the fund below
@StockSavvyShay@FuturumEquities We have the same positions in our portfolio on Autopilot for drones & autonomous defense. Autonomous systems replacing humans on the battlefield is inevitable.
@Allizwell45678 UMAC was a hobbyist drone company until the recent White House announcement to fund US drone production. This is their first link to the defense industry. It is now on our watchlist since there is now the connection.
Didn't make sense to be in the portfolio before the news.
Portfolio update for the Autonomous Warfare Fund. Went from 13 positions to 16. Exited the big primes: $NOC , $RTX , $GD and rotated into defense electronics, space ISR, and cyber. More pure-play autonomy exposure, less legacy defense. View more below:
THE AUTONOMY LAYER OF THE DEFENSE BUILDOUT
President Trump is pursuing funding deals with drone companies to boost domestic production & the market is starting to reprice unmanned systems as a core layer of modern warfare.
The bottleneck is shifting to autonomy, attritable mass & secure communications where the systems that let hundreds of low-cost drones operate like one coordinated force are driving dollar-content expansion across the stack:
1. $ONDS building autonomous systems layer for modern defense through drones, counter-UAS, ISR & mission-ready robotics with backlog jumping to $457M & a new $PLTR partnership bringing AIP & its Sky Weaver AI intelligence layer into the stack.
2. $KTOS one of the cleaner defense autonomy plays sitting across tactical drones, target drones, hypersonics & battlefield systems with Q1 delivering a record $2B backlog, a 1.6x book-to-bill & $14B opportunity pipeline.
3. $AVAV established drone warfare leader with loitering munitions, counter-drone systems & tactical UAS exposure that directly benefits as the Pentagon shifts toward attritable mass with $4.6B in YTD awards anchored by a $186M Army order for next-gen Switchblade munitions.
4. $AVEX higher-risk emerging supplier in the basket tied to the market’s search for smaller defense drone names that can scale into domestic unmanned systems demand thats backed by recent Air Force awards for one-way-attack autonomous aircraft & UAS engineering services.
5. $UMAC U.S. drone supply-chain play focused on rebuilding the domestic hardware layer from components to FPV drone systems as the government tries to reduce reliance on foreign-made drone parts while partner Powerus advanced to Phase II of the Pentagon’s $1B Drone Dominance Program.
6. $RCAT positioned around low-cost military drones & battlefield reconnaissance with Black Widow selected by Japan’s Ministry of Defense for 173 systems plus adoption from a NATO ally and the Australian Army.
7. $DPRO most speculative autonomy name in the basket with exposure to public safety, defense & emergency response plus a U.S. Air Force Special Operations FPV drone award & validated SwarmOS swarm-autonomy integration with Palladyne AI.
The U.S. $54.6 billion for the Defense Autonomous Warfare Group (DAWG) is the “largest single commitment to autonomous warfare in history.”

Is the US drone sector is getting a massive capital injection?
Pentagon is going all-in on "Drone Dominance," requesting $54B for its Defense Autonomous Warfare Group (DAWG) to scale up domestic manufacturing.
WSJ just broke that the Trump administration is now in direct funding talks with key US drone makers to bypass bottlenecks and get this done.
Obvious standout in these talks is $UMAC (Unusual Machines). Donald Trump Jr. sits on their advisory board and holds a massive stake, putting the company right at the center of the political and defense tech overlap.
The market is aggressively pricing in the news.
Look at the after-hours action across the sector:
• $UMAC: $18.83 (+20.45% AH)
• $RCAT: $10.67 (+11% AH)
• $ONDS: $10.80 (+9.60% AH)
Washington is opening the checkbook.
@Heshameeee@joinautopilot $RCAT is on the watchlist and was held in the portfolio previously. It was replaced for some other stocks more autonomy focused. Wish we had it in here for this move and will keep our eye on it.
Good bounce-back day, the fund is strongly in the green after a slow start.
The catalyst: reports the Trump admin is in talks to take equity stakes in U.S. drone makers. My drone names $ONDS $AVAV $KTOS are right in the middle of it. The Autonomous Warfare shift showing up.
Breaking: The Trump administration is in talks to take ownership stakes in U.S. drone companies
5 stocks worth watching:
• Unusual Machines $UMAC
*Makes domestic drone components. The only public company named in the talks
• Ondas Holdings $ONDS *Makes systems that detect and shoot down enemy drones
• AeroVironment $AVAV
*Makes the loitering munitions and recon drones U.S. troops use in combat
• Kratos Defense $KTOS
*Builds unmanned combat jets and target drones for the Pentagon
• Red Cat Holdings $RCAT
*Makes small tactical drones for U.S. military and law enforcement
💥 $ONDS “Iron-Wave” a smart UGV that links multiple drones through one central hub, slashing operators needed in the field. Built for defense & security, its modular design extends reach with coordinated autonomy.
$ONDS is trying to build a full 'system-of-systems' across aerial drones, counter-drone systems, ground robotics, ISR, border security, demining and AI-enabled command-and-control.
That's where the $PLTR partnership becomes important because software is what can turn a collection of drones, sensors and robots into a real operating system.
The acquisition strategy is aggressive but this quarter made it look a lot more credible. Less like a roll-up and more like an emerging autonomous defense platform with real demand behind it.
$ONDS is up 22% so far today and yes, it's in our @joinautopilot portfolio.
Q1 print delivered:
Revenue +820% YoY (~$39M)
Backlog at $457M (Mistral adds $264M)
BlackRock disclosed 9.3M shares (~$84M)
JPMorgan + Cetera building stakes
Drone + defense autonomy is going institutional. Glad we are in early.
