Old X felt different.
A single post could explode just with the right hashtags, fast likes, or quick retweets.
New X feels way more account-aware.
There’s no public “account score” you can see…
but X definitely uses internal account-level signals, called Tweepcred, to decide what gets shown.
Key signals that matter now:
• Your account history & age
• X Premium + verification status
• How the viewer relates to you
• Blocked / muted = instant penalty
• Quality of your followers and engagement
So the game changed.
We stopped asking:
“How do I make this one post get impressions?”
We started asking:
“How do I build a trusted, useful account in my niche?”
For indie devs, that means:
→ Be genuinely useful
→ Reply like a real human
→ Stay consistent in your niche
→ Cut the spammy stuff
Long-term account trust = sustainable reach.
Build trust first.
Reach follows later.

With the increasing cost of PCs we, indie developers, should create more games for potato PCs. I have an old PC at home and I really love it when I can run newly released games on it

Topic 1: Old X vs New X
Many indie devs are still posting for the old X algorithm.
Old X felt more simple:
Hashtags helped.
Likes pushed the post.
Retweets spread it.
Fast engagement mattered a lot.
New X feels more selective:
The topic needs to be clear.
The right audience needs to react.
Replies seem more important.
And the account itself probably matters too.
My experience with my own account:
Before the update, I was able to get more impressions with certain posting habits.
After the update, my impressions dropped.
At first, it was confusing.
But after testing for a while, I think I understand some of the reasons.
Old X felt like a system where many people could get impressions if they followed some basic rules.
New X feels harder.
Before, quantity mattered more.
Now, quality seems to matter more.
And this quality is probably judged more by AI / machine learning systems than before.
That also means one thing:
What works today may not work tomorrow.
Because the algorithm is changing too.

One advantage of using coding agents is that you normally have huge amounts of work in non player facing tasks and that pressure leads to task paralysis or procrastination so many times. Having an assistant like a coding agent helps break that wall of inertia #IndieDev#GameDev
@_dareDev@IndieCurator I support finished games with bad code design. I believe devs should release it then they can refactor the codebase provided that game is playable and bug free. I wanted to understand your perspective not making a point, and also share mine.
