This is a good way to run a countries education.

I swear to god, the downfall of the world started with participation trophies.

This morphed into thinking anyone in the country should be able to get a degree just like these ultra smart people and that filled all of our highest offices with educated idiots who had been through a system which always patted them on the back and always told them they can do or be anything they want.

I don’t see any reason for international students to pay a lot either. Price elasticity of demand.

Yeah, it’s a lot. I do think that we would capture a lot of value with online courses without anything like the costs. I also think it would attract a wider market to these courses in the world - which is an absolute good - which would potentially end up making more net.

I also think we have the heritage, skills and AI ecosystem to be a world leader in edutech if we invest in it properly.

I also think once the government compulsory buy and take over university halls and flat buildings and convert old lecture halls and classroom buildings we can put a million new social housing on the roster for ~£50b.

Better is too strong. Both are really valuable, but there’s a strong difference in the value currently. GPT5.5 is more succinct and precise. Good at actions, and chained well, good with hard problems. Opus 4.8 is an agent orchestrator. You should be using it to conduct your work, not carry it out. Opus 4.8 conducting GPT5.5 is super powerful but don’t sleep on Cerebrus for any agentic code based workflow. They are your baseline.
