Many riders also do not wear helmets or follow basic traffic laws, such as stopping at stop signs or traffic lights. That’s why the Syracuse Police Department is cracking down on this issue—to help keep everyone safe on the road.

Riding ATVs on the street is unsafe because these vehicles are not designed for paved roads or for sharing space with regular motor vehicles. They lack mirrors, turn signals, and lights, making them more likely to be involved in accidents.

ATVs like these are being confiscated from the streets by the Syracuse Police. Illegally riding ATVs on city streets has become a serious issue. So far this year, eight ATVs have been seized and about 20 traffic citations have been issued.

Spent my Friday at The International Taste Festival! Since 2022, the food has brought a world of flavors to Syracuse! I spoke with Mark Albino, a chef at Rosalia’s Cucina!
He says, “It's a lovely experience. We’ve been sharing Italian food in the community going on 30 years.”
The International Taste Festival was a day full of cultural engagement and celebration! One festival goer said, “It gives people the opportunity to experience different flavors and sit down with people that they normally wouldn't sit down with.”
The food wasn’t the only way to learn more about a culture other than your own! The live entertainment featured acts from various cultural groups like this Scottish bagpiping group. The group marched throughout the entire building sharing their musical style!
The festival featured food from five different regions. The food included foods of the America’s, Asian creations, Middle Eastern treats, Pan African Cuisine, and tastes of Europe!
Which region would you try first?
The top runners from each age group were recognized. Those recognized got a trophy or medal🏅 This event raised about 10,000 in support of their mission! To learn more about how you can get head over to their website at https://t.co/mApjTYVz1L
On Saturday, I covered a story about Community Options’ 17th annual Cupid’s Chase 5K! I interviewed their regional director who said, “I appreciate the Syracuse Community.” A powerful reminder of what we can achieve together! See my official story on NCC News! #nccnews

Two things that stood out from the NYT article: 1. Young people deleted social media apps from their phone. 2. People turned off push notifications. These two topics were very interesting because my friends and I often discuss/dissect news through social platforms. #NewhouseMojo
@AnthonyAdornato As a journalist, I use my instagram and Facebook account for audience engagement and distribution of news. For example, I shared my completed DIA package on both platforms to promote/encourage the importance of exercising our civic duty of voting!

@AnthonyAdornato As a news consumer, I use my mobile device to search for news while I’m on the go. I use google to search for the news of the day. I read over all the top articles suggested. On social media, I follow up on headlines posted by gossip sites at reputable sites like CNN or MSNBC.
It’s Election Day in Syracuse! I’m live from Eastwood Community Center speaking with residents about how important voting is to our democracy! All polling sites in Syracuse close at 9PM! Head over to the nearest polling station and cast your vote! #NHDIA#nccnews
