#HOTD Season 3 overall - generally pretty good! About a 7/10. Better overall than S2 but there’s several creative choices that stopped me loving it. While I don’t agree with all his points, I do understand why GRRM distanced himself from the show.
Ep-by-ep thoughts here:
#HOTD 3x01 - Really good, but unfortunately a tad underwhelming.
Pros:
- Intro to Ormund/Winter Wolves
- Aegon and Larys road trip
- The Gullet (mostly)
- Sheepstealer
Cons:
- Choppy editing
- Rhaenyra getting locked in was dumb as hell
- Alicent. Just… Alicent.
I mean, I don’t agree, but you absolutely can lol.
Can I not say Firefly is better than Buffy the Vampire Slayer because it only ran for 14 episodes as opposed to 144?
@JimmyClarke__ Yall gotta stop this nonsense. You can’t compare a show that ONLY had 6 30 minute episodes to two shows with multiple seasons. Then to say it’s greater is ridiculous.
Rupert Grint has joined the cast of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on Broadway, where he'll play an adult version of his iconic role as Ron Weasley.
The actor will appear on Broadway from Feb. 2 to May 30, 2027.

This is somewhat out of my usual wheelhouse but I rewatched The Wrestler for the first time in 7-8 years or so and it still hits like an emotional freight train. Great character study and Mickey Rourke losing the Best Actor Oscar is a travesty. I cried three times.
Something that in the first film took less than 20 minutes and stretching it to a hour or so has been the template of so much streaming slop. This show will make Chris fucking Columbus look like an economic filmmaker
Part of me wonders if Daeron is even showing up in S4 because I can see the thematic case for an ambiguous fate. This idea of a boy, a stranger to his family, pulled in different directions by everyone around him then lost to the histories. Rip Daeron we hardly even knew ye etc
‘Lanterns’ EP Damon Lindelof Claims Nobody Wants Adaptations Faithful to the Source Material
“As a consumer and as someone who’s making this stuff, there’s almost a responsibility to take risks. I don’t think anybody wants to see you be completely and totally vigilant to the source material because then it isn’t an adaptation at all. Shouldn’t we be beyond this conversation by now?” -Damon Lindelof

This broke the show. There was no coming back. It did not make sense at the moment and it ruined multiple plotlines. There was almost no way to recover from it.
My guy, you have tweeted me no less than six times in the span of two hours, reiterating the same incorrect point over and over again, often times when it has nothing to do with the thread you are responding to. Kindly go outside and touch some grass.
@HANOHXNO I actually think Season 5 was the best of the 2nd half of the show. Some really poor writing decisions but it also has some real highs that 6, 7 and 8 never reached.
